Quinti drummed her fingers against her desk nervously as she stared into the screen of her husktop, her teeth worrying her bottom lip. It was like that blinking little line in the trollian chat box was mocking her. Why was she so nervous? All she was doing was introducing herself to Flaire’s matesprit. But after how much her moirail had gushed and praised Nepeta, she wanted to make sure that she made a good first impression. She took a deep breath and let it out slowly, then started to type.

Nepeta blinked at the sudden Trollian message. SarcasticOutsider? She’d never seen that handle before. Oh, it was Flaire’s moirail!

Quinti let out a huge sigh of relief as she read Nepeta’s response. This was going well so far! She seemed really nice!

SO: it’s nice to meet yyou too! ^vv^

SO: i figured it vvas high past time i talked to the troll that’s been making Flaire so happyy latelyy! as his moirail, i definitelyy have to thank yyou for that! :3

Nepeta grinned at the screen as she watched the messages pop up. She had heard Flaire talk a bit about his moirail, and she would be lying if she said she wasn’t happy to meet Quinti! AC: :33< g33z, you dont have to thank me fur anything really. it makes me happy that i can make him happy AC: :33< that sounds pawsitively great! i would really like that!!

Even though Inctura didn’t feel like doing much tonight, she did had the idea of checking to see if Casian had return to his hive. She had received a few letters from him on where’s he has been but wasn’t sure when he would come home. Walking for a while, she makes it to where she could see his hive and squints as she looks for any signs of him..

Casian shuffled into his hive, grunting as he hefted a rather large, heavy box inside. He set it carefully down on the counter with a sharp exhale of relief, then dusted his hands off and flicked on the lights. It was nice to be home. He'd been gone on an expedition to some ancient ruins in the far east, and he'd been spending a large amount of his time there in a hole in the ground - digging, brushing, and carefully dusting off artifacts from the past. He put his hands on his hips as he looked around his hive - now littered with piles of cardboard boxes filled with his treasures. His fins pricked as he heard a soft slapping sound, a wide smile spreading across his face as his lusus came to greet him. He pet Sealdad's head while the lusus snuffled his hand, digging his phone out of one of his coat's many pockets with the other and typing out a quick message to Inctura - he promised her he'd let her know when he got back.

"Hey, sweetheart! Just got back to mmy hi\/e! I'\/e mmissed you so mmuch! Can't wait to see you! <3"

so like... i know you all haven't heard from me in like... 6 months now?

but hey! i've got a bit of free time and i kind of felt like RPing!

i can't say if i'll be back for good or not - i've got a hella busy schedule with college and whatnot - but maybe i'll reply when i can??

i missed you guys!

hey guys

important explanation and future stuff under the cut

sorry i've been gone for so long. my computer decided that it was sick of life and just up and died on me(i actually just got my new computer today), so i haven't been able to get on to my RP blog. and even if i could, i haven't had a muse whatsoever, so i wouldn't have had much motivation to check in anyway. honestly, it's still not back.

i'll be going away to college in two weeks, and i don't know how much i'll be on. this is a big change for me, and i'll mostly be trying to focus on doing well in my classes and having somewhat of a social life. i don't know if i'll be responding to RPs within the next two weeks, but starting the 28th, i will be on hiatus.

i understand if you don't want to stick around - i'm not sure how much i'll be RPing in the future - but if you do, i want to thank you for your patience. i've had a wonderful time on here getting to know you all, and even if i end up quitting RPing altogether, i will always have some great memories.

Quinti paused mid-step, her cheeks warming up slightly again at the compliment. She turned around to look at him, embarrassment and denial making her voice go up a pitch without her even realizing it.

"That’s silly, Vextus. I mean, it’s nice of you to say, but I uh… I’m not adorable."

The statement was followed by a small, nervous laugh, Quinti’s hand going to the back of her head and rubbing it in a flustered manner. She wasn’t exactly great with compliments, her default response being to deny them and try to change the subject.

Seeing an opportunity to do the latter after observing him take interest in another toy, she peered over at him and questioned, “Um… What do you have there?”

Vextus smiled and held up what looked to be a “grow your own sea creature” toy, a box which was brightly colored and had overly large letters on it to obviously portray how “awesome” it was ~~~~just this…i think someone mmm misplaced it?~~~~ He shrugged lightly as he red the back of the box, the front still facing her, and hiding the small smile on his face. ~~~~also you kinda sorta are~ ~~~ He mused aloud, his tone somewhat low as he countered her declination of adorableness. He honestly couldnt help it, the act of denying a compliment only served to make him want to prove it that much more. Well that and the fact he could use the phrase “the butterflies made me do it” in an attempt to hide his flustered feelings

"Oh, heh. I see. That seems kind of fun."

Quinti couldn't help but be sheepish in situations like this. Her blush continued to stay firmly in place, held there by his insistence as to the truth of his statement. She quickly searched for something with which to distract herself, mulling over the stuffed animals before pausing. The most perfect little fox with soft, white fur and black button eyes was staring back at her. She forgot her embarrassment for a moment and went to gently pick it up, running a hand over its head and rubbing a velvet-lined ear in between her thumb and forefinger. The resemblance to her lusus was uncanny.

The seadweller had no idea how long it had been - his concept of time had flown out the window like his rationality - but he found himself with his arms wrapped around Inctura's bare abdomen, bliss and exhaustion mixing and he nuzzled the back of her neck. He didn't want to disrupt the peaceful quiet with talk, so he just raised a hand up and started running his fingers through her hair, humming appreciatively.

Flaire took a deep breath to calm himself and force down his blush as he locked eyes with his moirail. “Quinti…doyouwannagooutonapaledatewithme?”

Quinti’s eyes widened slightly as the flames spiked up on his shoulders, moving quickly to shush him and pap his cheek in order to calm him down. She knew how he could get concerning her, but she could handle herself.

"His name is Vextus," she murmured, uncertainty as to how he would react still influencing her actions. "I ran into him in the woods when I had gotten a bit lost and he pointed me in the right direction, but when it came time to leave, I found I was enjoying his company, so we went into town together. You should see what he can do with flowers… It’s really beautiful."

Flaire calmed down a bit more when she helped him do so, instead listening to her speak with patience instead of letting his emotions burst out. The way she spoke about him still caused his protectiveness to spike but he did not show it outwardly.

"I…see. Well if he made that much of an impression on you then I suppose I should meet this Vextus sometime soon." His initial thoughts were to show this troll exactly what fire could do to these flowers she spoke about, but Flaire knew he was not so cruel as to do that. Not to his moirail. Though he would give him quite the warning about what the consequences would be for any harm that he brought upon his moirail.

"O-oh, yeah! Of course! I'd be happy to introduce the two of you!"

Quinti's face grew slightly pensive over this hypothetical scenario before she turned to Flaire with a stern expression, waggling her finger at him.

"But no scaring him off! I know you have a tendency to be a bit... intense, but you have to try your hardest to be nice!"

Um hi! did you make the pixels of your trolls? How did you make them they look awesome!

hi there! thank you so much for the compliment! i did in fact make my troll pixels, though i didn’t make them from scratch! i used feastings' pixels as a base and then edited them in MS Paint.

for example, for Laikon’s sprite

i used their Sollux sprite as a base

i start editing by opening the sprite in Paint and then zooming in as much as possible and putting up grid lines, like so

with it zoomed in like this, you can make miniscule changes, then zoom out to see how it will look regular sized. remember, the idea isn’t to get every detail exactly precise, but rather to get the general shape and idea!

oh, and if you want to change a large section from one color to another (say, if i wanted to make Laikon’s jacket blue) make sure to take off the grid lines to make it easier for yourself and use the bucket tool!

on feastings’ faq, it says, “feel free to use any of my art/pixels for personal use, like decorating your blogs or webpages etc. credit isnt necessary but it’s always a nice thing to do. just please dont edit/recreate any of my stuff for profit, be it fictional or real.”

i personally always like to give credit when i post the finished pieces. if you’re planning to make your own, just keep in mind to be respectful to the original artist’s wishes!
