Some of my favorite classics.

The books I’ve listed here are among my favorites, and are relatively fast-paced/quick reads compared to lots of classic literature, such as the works of Charles Dickens (who happens to be one of my favorite authors). It takes practice and concentration to get used to reading classic literature, but if you are ever feeling up to Dickens, I would recommend “Oliver Twist” and “Great Expectations” to start out with. Dickens was an astute observer of human nature, and that’s what makes his stories so enduring.

C.S. Lewis impacted my spiritual life more than any other author, which is why I say he’s my favorite author. I’ve listed by favorite stories by him, but I’ve been touched by just about all of his other works.

Ryan Gosling’s career has just been one long quest to climb the Warner Bros water tower

that man has been trying to climb this tower since he was 16. he has asked multiple times, and every time they said no, but now he’s famous enough & variety was able to convince them to do a shoot on the tower. it all led here. it was all for this.

the stuffed animal situation is phenomenal these days. you can find any specific arthropod or deep sea fish or microbe etc. used to be back in olden times all you could get was bears and mutants

somehow instead of saying "as a treat", I've started using the phrase "for morale", as if my body is a ship and its crew, and I (the captain) have to keep us in high spirits, lest we suffer a mutiny in the coming days.

and so I will eat this small block of fancy cheese, for morale. I will take a break and drink some tea, for morale. I will pick up that weird bug, for morale.

I'm not sure if it helps, but it does entertain me

"As a treat" implies a special occasion, a temporary state. "For morale" makes the joy essential, because you have to have good morale to keep going.
