It’s been a while Tumblr. Here’s some photos from Amboise, France in 2016.Â

Our sister shop, Adored Vintage, and I made a little trip out to Sauvie Island last Friday to photograph some lingerie and flowers to promote a pop-up we’re having with Look Pop-Ups (February 7th, 12-5! at The Holocene!).Â
We soaked in awe, jaws dropped, and literally squealing of excitement as we drove around Sauvie Island, a place that Rodellee and I share as one of our favorite places. I felt like we were transported to Scotland or Ireland and thought, “Oh, how wonderful it would be to visit those places.” Then realized, “Wait, I live in a place that looks just like those paintings and photographs.” Sometimes our aspirations are so much closer than we believe them to be, or we’re already immerse within them.
Working three jobs, it’s easy to get caught up staying in the city, my only view of whats outside all the trees and concrete being online. It was such a breathe of fresh air to get out and return to a more natural setting. So much of my inspiration comes from the natural world, and although I’m incredibly inspired by other artists and designers, it is such a humbling reminder that the greatest beauty exists outside of humans in this greater world that is so much bigger than us.
A post from my flower blog, RUE ANAFEL.

I took the small leap, everyone. I made an Instagram account and tumblr for my journey as a self employed florist. Follow along if it so pleases you.

There were suppose to be thunderstorms all day the next day, so we decided to get off the trail early at Sawtooth Lake. It was hot. The sun toasted our skin. We had funny sunburns from our backpacks. We dipped into the lake for a little, then hitched a couple rides back to the car. The events turned out to be truly serendipitous, because one of our rides told us about this gem of a hot spring spot. It seems, most of the time, things happen to go better when you don’t create a stone cold plan, rather let life organically unravel.Â

Hiking around the Sawtooths. Truth is, we didn’t really see any sunsets or sunrises. We went lay in the tent, snuggled in our sleeping bags, ready for bed before the sun set and stayed there until the sun was already stretching over the trees onto our tent. This trail kicked our asses. We fell in love in these mountains years ago, so we thought it would be appropriate to visit again since this is where we first realized we didn’t really want to be with anyone else. We stayed awake those nights talking and greeted the sun with sleepy eyes. Things sure have changed, but it’s all okay since our feelings haven’t.Â

A couple summers ago we went on small backpacking trips every weekend. This summer I worked most weekends, and instead of scattered short lived getaways, we had one long backpacking trip. These photos were from one of the few (but treasured) weekends at one of our favorite spots.Â

The last role I ever shot on my old Hasselblad, and the day I sold it. The breakfast we ate, the walk to the 12th and Hawthorne food carts from my old apartment, the wait for the dude, and the dude himself. You can see what the ol’ Hassy went on doing at Aaron’s website: http://aewesslingphotography.com/.Â
