Original vs. cheap power adapters

I decided to examine the insides of two Macbook Pro 85W power adapters. Both of them were dysfunctional; the original Apple adapter came with my 2007 Macbook Pro, and the second one was purchased at my work off the internet. The price was too good to be true it appears. It stopped working after a couple of days in service and I didn't think much of it until today.

The first thing I noticed in the comparison was the weight; the original power adapter was much heavier. When I weighed them it turned out this was indeed quite a difference. 317 grams vs. 207 grams!

After this, I pried both cases open. The original Apple adapter was much easier to open. Inside it became clear where the weight had been dropped. The number of electronic components were very different, the original had a lot more of them, and a lot more insulation.

Note that on the cheap Power adapter there is a fake ground connector, it's not connected to anything, while on the original Apple one the ground connector is actually able to connect to ground.

Then the final examination was of the circuitry, I didn't do a close comparison, but looking at the difference tells something.
