Charlie couldn’t help but pull an exaggerated frown at Sasha when she mentioned him at the masquerade. It took everything in him not to smile, but he managed. “I was there! I was the one with the — you know! — the mask! IN the… nice suit? Didn’t you see me? I’m…” Charlie ran a hand across his face, as though in exasperation, but when he removed it, the smile was plain as day on his lips. Laughter came from him, too, as she played along to the bright suggestions he offered. For a moment, he put a hand on his chin, like he was in deep thought. “Well, for starters, make sure there’s free food offered. Like… all the time. People will travel far and wide, I promise. This has been proven. By science.”

Genuine worry shone in Sasha’s eyes as Charlie’s face shifted and he explained. Confusion then marred her expression, brows furrowed as her head canted, akin to that of a puppy. “I--” She mumbled, underneath what Charlie was saying; it all snapped when the sound of his laughter broke the air. “Jesus, Charlie!” Sasha squealed, reaching out to smack his arm before the same palm came to cover her face, muffling the laughter that slipped out. Straightening, she rolled her eyes, but didn’t stray in her position, hovering near him even as he continued to work. “Like all the free food ever? I think... I can manage that. Since science is an extremely reliable source.”

Waiting for his sister to come pick him up, he sat on the steps of the building and unpacked his lunch, carefully pulling out his egg sandwich from the ziplock bag with delicate fingers. Then, he took a small bite, savoring the flavor of the filling and giving a content sigh. “This is the best egg sandwich in the world,” he muttered, more to himself than anything, but he hadn’t realized the other person who might have been listening in. “Did you want some?” he asked, with a mouthful of bread.

Pausing with one foot on the first step, Sasha turned towards the source of the noise; delight immediately spread across her expression, a soft laugh trilling from her within seconds. People often remarked how her face was an open book, and it segued then into that of tame disgust, and she replied without hesitation. “I’ll have to pass, thank you. Don’t hate -- but I am not a fan of egg on a sandwich.”

“All apart of the plan, my darling,” she joked with a grin, leaning into Sasha’s side slightly. Alessa was one to often compliment people, and usually it would be in a matter of flirting. And with Sasha, yeah it was like that, but at least she could see that the girl meant well as well and the compliment was warranted. Nevertheless, it was cute to see the way Sasha reacted. She groaned at the girl’s words, tipping her head back before tossing the rubbish she held to the table beside her. “I didn’t volunteer willingly though, so that makes me an asshole citizen, probably,” she sighed, turning her gaze back to Sasha, watching as she dropped her hand.

"I’ll have to make my epitaph something about you. Died all thanks to the charm and wit of Alessa Ruiz-- or something.” Laughing, Sasha felt a loss for words, a rare instance that prompted her to re-focus her energy into fixing up the boxes she had just filled. It was a meaningless fidget, something she wasn’t even aware of as things all but moved in front of her and the entirety of her mind was focused on what Alessa would say next; apparently, that was all that mattered, and she was ready to respond. “Well, at least you’re a gorgeous one. There’s always a positive side, right?” Looking up from her task, Sasha laughed, not forced in the slightest as her hand raised to cover her mouth. A bashful body-language to her blatant flirting.

As Sasha spoke, Charlie continued to do what he had to do, though he made sure to look up at her every now and then to ensure her that he was listening. There was a smile on his lips, despite the weight on his shoulders and the ache of his feet. He had gotten used to all that, but he never saw it as a reason not to smile at anybody. “Well, good”—he nodded his head—”it would’ve been awful if you hadn’t joined in.” Sasha continued on then, and Charlie couldn’t help but look at her and the flyer she offered once she had mentioned that cleaning up is in fine print. A soft laugh escaped him as he looked to find that her words were true. “Damn it, you should’ve made it the main text! That way, more people will be helping us!” he joked. “And then, we’ll be done earlier with all this cleaning, no? That’s a good idea! Use it next time, okay?”

It was typical of Sasha to see the best in people, to highlight their positive traits and (tragically) ignore all their flaws -- but even that part of her wasn’t exaggerating when she went totally starry eyed for Charlie. In every capacity that she had seen, he was nothing but good. The smile never faded from her expression, tone chipper and bubbly as she conversed. “You’ll never have to worry on that front. But did you? I didn’t happen to see you last night.” Head tilted at her own inquiry, but laughter bubbled from her at his continued response. “I think I can manage that for you next time. Are there any other brilliant ideas you’ve got? I’m all ears.”

“no, no,” soohyun started out with his cheeks heating up lightly at her soft praise, shaking his head the moment the words leave her lips. “you really don’t have to, i’m sure you have other things on your plate aside from this so, you’ve done yours, i’ll do mine,” he continued with a small laugh, always slightly flustered when people acknowledged his actions in a positive way outside of work.

"I insist!” Sasha begged, lips still quirked in the semblance of a smile as she ducked around the table towards him. “There’s no official job for me to do, they just asked me along to help in any way I can -- so helping you still really fits the bill.” Something about the boy tugged on her heart strings, so there was a passion to her insistence of helping him, of seeing more underneath the bashful exterior he’d emitted. “Please?”

Pearl let out a chuckle, “I wouldn’t go that far and say that, besides I’ve hardly done the work you have since look like you’ve been here the longest though.” The redhead remarked, her green eyes darting down to the sorting the brunette was currently tackling. The long table stretch past them with decorations scattered along the length. Pearl then moved her gaze back towards the woman, “You’re mother sounds like a wise woman. Which is why I’ve come to lend a hand. Want me to sort through the lights? I will be honest, this looks like it will take all day.” Gesturing towards the tangle strings of golden lights. A chuckle left her lips at the woman’s words, “Who’s the wonderful soul now? You seem a lot more chipper to be doing this than anyone of us. Oh, are you an event planner of some sort?” 

"Aw, come on! Every help is wonderful so just take the credit, lovebug.” Sasha laughed, the sound trilling and echoing in the grand ballroom of the convention centre. “That she is, she knows what she’s talking about,” She began, before shuffling closer to her companion. “That would be amazing -- don’t worry, I’ll help too, so maybe it’ll take us... only three quarters of a day?” Theatrical as ever, the joke was evident with her posh drawl, aiming to sound as devastated as she could as mischief sparked in her hazel hues. Dramatics only lasted seconds before the brunette straightened, nimble fingers reaching out for what was ahead of them. First task: untangling. She fixed on one string of the starry lights and began to tug softly as she conversed. “Honestly, I’m just lame and don’t do much else. Yes, yes! For charities. I have my own focused on LGBT matters, but I help out with other fundraisers... because I apparently don’t know what free time is.”

There was rarely a moment where Jax could be seen without his leather jacket either on or in his hand, so the whole ‘black tie’ thing really didn’t work out for him at all. “I’ll come around once they decide to get rid of the fancy suit and tie bullshit that they’re known for.” He explained, shrugging his shoulders as he looked around the room. Half of the things had been taken down already but the things he could still see looked ridiculously expensive and he instantly felt so out of place it was surreal. Her question, however, brought him back into reality and he realized how fishy it would sound if he turned her suggestion down. ‘Yeah no, I actually don’t know what it is he lost.’ Would probably not go over that great, so Jaxon put on the most genuine smile he could. “I don’t see why that would be a problem, however, don’t want to take you away from your job if you’re needed .. doing whatever it is you’re doing. I’m sure they’ve got a lost and found bin by now, right?”

With a wrinkle of her nose, Sasha’s tone turned even more tightly polite. “Some people enjoy getting dressed up so I’m afraid it’s something that’ll never go out of fashion -- there are always more events that have a more casual approach on a dress code, though, and you should definitely consider going to them. It always is a lot of fun, I swear.” Flashing a grin, Sasha’s hands raised, palms upwards, to aid her shrug. As they fell back to the side of her body, position lax, she answered his query. “I’m not really needed -- just another set of hands -- plus, this is sort of helping with the pack up, isn’t it?” Head tilted, her eyes scanned their vicinity, and she did wonder if they had what he asked for. “I’m not entirely sure if the organisers have gotten one yet. It doesn’t usually happen on the day, it’s mostly by tomorrow that everything’s cleaned and filed with a claiming system.”

Trenton scowled at the response he got from the stranger because fuck it was so fucking early and why was he on the floor? He remembered getting to the ball and then drinking a lot, and then now, here he was. “Fuck,” Trenton groaned. He was used to getting up around this time for work, but, still, mornings sucked and they sucked even more when he was hungover. Trenton needed to down a gallon of soda, and soon. “Find me some Pepsi and you’ll be my new best friend for the day.”

“Pepsi?” Sasha echoed, confusion lacing her words as her brows furrowed for a moment. The expression faded within moments and she just nodded, taking a step back with a quick affirmation. “Okay, got it! I’ll be back in a bit.” Pivoting, she wandered towards the makeshift food and drink area that had been provided for the volunteers; it would be an all day event, so for their help, sustenance was provided. Amongst the stash, the brunette wasn’t surprised to find an assortment of soda, thus she grabbed the one in question and made her way back to the hungover mess of a person. Holding it out to him, she had to clear her throat to re-announce herself, and once he took it, she straightened. Hands tucked into her pockets, Sasha spoke once more, almost hesitant. “One soda and now one new best friend... for a day. I’m Sasha, by the way.”
