me discovering my inner worth
This fantastic artist is getting ripped off by Zara who think it’s okay because she’s “indie”
“I had my lawyer contact Zara, and they literally said I have no [case] because I’m an indie artist and they’re a major corporation and that not enough people even know about me for it to matter.”

Overwatch is the change in the gaming industry I want to see.
Thats it. Theres no ifs ands or butts. No more excuses about games with so many female leads being “risky”. I can point to overwatch.
“We need to make lead ladies young and sexy”. No you dont! Look at Overwatch.
This is it. This is what I wanted.
Don’t get me wrong, Overwatch is great and I love it but it’s not without flaws.
When the game was in production, all it had was risqué female characters with skin tight outfits and boob suction armor. Zarya and Mei were only created as an answer to fan criticism on a lack of varying body types.
The issue of racism is heavily untouched in the fandom as well. There are two skins that jump out at me immediately- Pharah’s “Thunderbird” and Symmetra’s “Goddess” (also Devi)
Pharah is Egyptian, born and raised in Gaza (if I’m not mistaken?). Her “Thunderbird” skin is based very blatantly on Indigenous North American iconography. Frankly I have no idea what Blizzard was thinking when this was designed- if they view these cultures as interchangeable or what but it’s pretty gross.
Symmetra’s “Goddess” and “Devi” skins are based off the Goddess Kali, but they’re done so very poorly and offensively. I saw another post made by an Indian woman, and I’m sorry that I lost it, that essentially described the skin as “a pinup”. Kali is depicted with four arms: one with a sword, one with a severed head, and two extended to bless her followers. Furthermore she wears her chain of skulls about her neck, not her hip. I don’t know why they changed this in her design but I suspect it’s something to do with wanting to show her chest.
Like I said, I like this game and it’s good to see at least two characters that break traditional stereotypes, and Ana’s release today was an added bonus, but this game isn’t exactly a “break the mold” revolutionary title. I wish people would stop treating it like it was.

of course, the irony about this cartoon - which I assume is meant to demonstrate shallow selfie culture desecrating the great classics - is that among other things a) hamlet is a disaffected young man suffering from depression and, frankly, deeply self-absorbed and b) the entire play is obsessed with the idea of performance and performativity and so absolutely hamlet taking selfies would be in the spirit of the original because a selfie is a new way of constructing the self through images
so what I’m saying is: fuck off culture snobs I’m coming for you
Yeah, my first thought was definitely “huh. That would make for a pretty good adaptation.”
Imagine a production where all of his soliloquies were done as snapchats that the audience watched on their own phones.
masculinity is a prison, time doesn’t exist, gender isn’t real, virginity is a construct, and Jesus wasn’t white.
