Izaya closed his eyes, thinking it over and stepping away from her to sit at his desk. “Mm, that’s a good question, dear client…” He gave a tight lipped smile, drumming his fingers on the desk. “However, every single day people sacrifice themselves in hopes to grasp the attention of their so called “God”. Do you ever hear of a genuine response? This world is a cold one, and a God will pick no favorites…~” He opened his dark crimson eyes and met his client’s, smirking, “Does that answer your question?”

Hailee followed Izaya with deadly eyes, "Wrong, huh? I can't say I'm too surprised. You always know best when it comes to these things, hm?" She rose from her seat and made her way to the window. Outside cars rolled by under the sun's setting light. She focused on her reflection before her eyes found Izaya's. "Now, if you're done avoiding questions, I want to ask you about that attack you had arranged for me. There was a reason. No crap to cover it up. Give me that reason, Orihara."

Izaya laughed, his head thrown back, “So that’s why your here, Hailee-chan! Maybe you’re not as stupid and I implied earlier.” He spun on his heel, making his way back to his desk and typing more things into his computer. “But I suppose it was only a matter of time before you came crawling back to me, looking for direct answers instead of actually finding them yourself. How weak of you~”

"Right, right," she felt her temper creeping up, "I forgot this was all a silly game that we play." She shook her head, "I'm surprised at you, Izaya. Do you honestly think I come here just to be /reminded/ how ridiculous this unsorted game is? No, no I come here for strict answers to find my way to the finish. This game has no rules, so I've learned by the way you've decided to play. I require no instructions because you hand them to me. And you've already gotten the reward. My frustration."

Izaya rose from his chair, a his grin  flashing white teeth, he arms were placed out by his sides, and his face looked overzealously childish. “Smart, my dear Hailee-chan! You love to make those dramatic assumptions, now don’t you?” He waltzed his way over to her , standing in front of her and leaning down to meet her face level, “But acting so fierce will not convince me that you are a pawn worth promoting, my dear inferior~” The demon-eyed informant straightened back up, then continued to make his way around the room, “But you are wrong in certain fields once more, my dearest client. Where? That’s not for you to know.”

Her face grew grim for a split second before she forced another smile, "It was nice of you... to arrange that little play date that is." She sighed and closed her eyes, "I think I needed a little reminder of how things actually run around here. It seems you're the one always giving me those reminders, though. I'm not sure what you think you could possible get out of this. Besides," she peered over at the informant with rebellious eyes, "what does my business do to affect any of yours?"

He closed his eyes, his head tilted and a wide, close-lipped smile spread across his face. “Oh, Hailee-chan. Don’t attempt to play a game you have yet to read the instructions for..~” He rested a finger on his chin, his other hand drumming the desk softly. “Why should I care if you always end up here, asking for any ‘reminders’ on a game you have not yet learned to play?” Opening his eyes to a slit, he chuckled, “And why does everything need a reward?”

"Well, I wouldn't have anyone to bother if you left now would I?" she snickered lightly. "But," she continued while taking a seat, "that doesn't mean I like you does it? It could mean that I tolerate you, right? Oh, the possibilities!"

Snickering, Izaya swiveled in his chair lightly, “My my, Hailee-chan. You have indeed changed, haven’t you?” He shined his fox-like grin, swiping his fingers across his keyboard, “Maybe it’s that little play date I had assigned for you, hm?”

The dark-haired broker looked up from his phone and smirked, his dark crimson eyes flashing. "That quite the unusual thing for you to say, Hailee-chan. And here I thought you hated me~" He pretended to swoon, laughing at his sarcasm afterwards.
