Takes time for him to adjust to a time of peace, as it would for anyone. He’s glad for the extra time for him to be with you, where you’re both safe and alive and able to see each other without threat of invasion or another war.
Isn’t as eager to get married right away as his other friends—Neji would want to get to all the things he missed out on while growing up as kids in an unstable environment; including dates, taking advantage of downtime, mostly just relieved that you’re able to smile together.
Definitely still trains even though the demand for ninja decreases post-war. Partially out of habit and partially to keep his mind right. It’s a comfort to lean into something that he’s known all his life, and he even might let you meditate with him if you ask nicely.

Tries not to think about the past too much but sometimes tries to remember what he thought his life would be like. Wants to make something of himself beyond the shinobi world, and with you that future is a lot clearer.
Adjusts to domestic life quicker than one might expect. Learns to be a little lazier with his time, like sleeping in during some mornings and just enjoying seeing you in night clothes, sitting on the couch with a mug in your hand, eating breakfast at the same table, sharing smiles in a quiet place just for them. It’s all very appealing to Neji and once he gets a taste he will be loathe to have it taken away from him.
That feeling of loving someone from afar, knowing very well things will never work out. Maybe it's your overthinking, or your fear of rejection.
