Yara is a little bit of a weirdo, especially when she’s sporting her favorite plushie purse. Good thing Hamzah finds it endearing 😄❤️ (Nuhro is sometimes confused lol) Dating era for these two, also bonus little solo illustration of them from a previous post (he’s opening her soda for her 🥹)

Super duper excited to be tabling at @lightboxexpo this year and to be premiering/selling my “Suns of Suhad” art book for the first time!! If you want a copy and/or other goodies please stop by! Officially naming this project "Suns of Suhad". A huge thanks to my friends Noor, Grace, BatteriB and Portlynn for helping me land on the title and a huge huge thanks to Qing for helping me design this typeface! While I'm still developing the whole story with the hopes of releasing it as a graphic novel/webcomic, I'll be working on an art of book (it'll be a romance anthology of the two couples Hamzah & Yara and Nuhro & K) for release this October. Will share more on that soon! Thanks everyone for following along so far and enjoying my sweet little SWANA bebes <3

He's so in love your honor...and so fashionable LOL. I'm having alot of fun dressing these kids. He is definitely taking Yara to a rock/metal concert when they're together, this is canon (and while it's not her type of music she'd be having a ball bouncing around because she's someone who finds joy in most everything.)

April 28 is Hamzah’s birthday, so Happy Birthday baby boyo ♥️🥳 Seeing as he’s a major family man, here’s a fam & friends filled birthday celebration for him (featuring a handmade birthday crown from Noor lol complete with a glued on macaroni...) Been super duper busy, but hope to post some more goodies soon! Had to drop this one for my son’s bday tho

(Pre-dating era) Anytime Hamzah is babysitting Noor, these two come running (she's too cute to resist🤣). And Nuhro doesn't miss a chance to fan the flames if someone gets the wrong idea (much to Hamzah and Yara's chagrin.) Also finally named this project "Suns of Suhad"! I will make a proper announcement soon (still working on the typeface design save me) but here it is for now.

The Iraq National Team qualified for the World Cup for the first time in 40 years CONGRATS Y’ALL!! Had to do a little post featuring the kids, Hamzah would be so stoked (Yara’s def wearing one of his shirts in this lol)

Wind down sketch, Hamzah in traditional Iraqi wear (dishdasha, shemagh and agal - hope I got those names right!) I've been combing through the different styles of the dishdasha and ways to wear the shemagh so hopefully got this right (was trying to find more Iraqi specific styles)! And a bonus Yara (pre-dating) rxn because why not. Def wanna draw more of him and Yara in traditional clothes, love love love this stuff.

The return of Noor (Hamzah’s niece/cousin’s kid!) First time Yara meets the little cutie and gets a new name LOL (pre-dating era). And Hamzah is just over there fighting for his life. Fun fact, Yara is Lebanese, but she greets Noor in Iraqi dialect (shlonich) because that’s what Noor’s familiar with ♥️🇮🇶

Longing and jealousy 👀 Pre-dating era, cuz we love that yummy tension hehe. This is likely around when Yara begins to react this way to this kind of situation, sending her on some nervous introspection which ends up in denial LOL. She’ll figure out her emotions eventually, hang in there girl.

Yara's birthday is March 10 so Happy Birthday Yara! (a few hours late on this post sorry ;_;) Just the gang out celebrating the little pisces lady, circa pre-dating era for Hamzah and Yara. I have some dating-era birthday sketches too cuz they looked too good in these fits to not do some lovey-dovey stuff, will get to those soon.

I know it’s super rough times right now so hopefully this can provide some serotonin, I know drawing these kids has been my primary source of it. ;_;

Yara getting on Hamzah's nerves LOL she can't help but be a nosy little electrical engineer here and there (and he is always overly concerned for her safety.) The bubble wrap has no relevance to the conversation nor incident, it's just Yara being Yara.

Sorry this is a little belated post (had a busy few days) but Ramadan Mubarak to all who celebrate! 🌙✨ Yara gets excited about her Ramadan decorations and definitely recruits the taller folks (aka Hamzah) to assist.
