“… what, this?” dorcas asked, looking down at the special tea that she had been brewing, before looking back up at them with a deceptive smile. “it’s just green tea, why would it be anything else?” she lied, hiding the lie well though. “…try it.” she added with a nonchalant shrug.
“You realize that sounds suspicious right? I'm good.” Toni replied. “I don’t need to drink anything and feel weird.”
Penny rested, tucked away in the back corner at Pops. Even with the mess her life was currently in she never lost sight of her work. Her actual career. A few case files thrown about the table amongst the plate of burger scraps and cold fries she rattled her brain, looking for the loophole to blow this case wide open. Feeling eyes on her she let out an annoyed sigh only she could hear before taking in a deep breath. “yes?” She asked in an erie sing songy tone, her eyes not looking up from the manila folder in hand.
“Ugh, what are you doing here?” Toni groaned, shaking her head. “I guess I’m here to take your order.” She replied with a roll of her eyes.

“I guess so.” Toni smiled at her. “She has to be the cute one though.”
——» it wasn’t every day that the shop was so empty. they had no customers scheduled for another hour and for some reason they didn’t even have the normal loitering serpents that liked to hang around. sure, the town was on edge but wasn’t it always? riverdale was coming closer and closer to realizing there are worse things out there than serial killer fathers and political monsters. for example: actual monsters. ‘you’d think they would be used to it by now..’ lilith thought to herself as she sanitized her station for the tenth time that hour, adjusting her nick nacks and ink bottles. as the boredom crept in, the bell over the door chimed and she turned towards the newcomer. “If you’ve never been here before, get your ID ready.”
“Hey, Lillith. It’s me.” Toni told the girl with a smile. “I was trying to get out of the cold for a moment and I noticed you were still open.”

she’s done pushing the flyer into the other person as the others words caught her attention , a smile being beamed at the other student before turning towards toni . ‘ as much as i love seeing a woman at work , tt . – & trust me , i do – i can’t expect you to do it alone . ’ & as much as she wants to help … she really doesn’t . ‘ & no offence to your adult children ? but i’m not sure sweet pea & fangs are people i’d trust with paint around things worth more than them . ’
Toni chuckled, nodding at her. “Well, I would need help, so I appreciate that.” She told her before humming. “I actually do agree with you there, but they are very useful if we need them to lift something way too heavy for one of us.”

“ well , i would hope you’re getting some credit points . ” a chuckle , it’s a good thing her and her sister aren’t in school . it sounds EXACTLY like something ruby would do . “ a valid reason , though . ”
Toni chuckled, nodding at her. “Well, she is my girlfriend, so I guess I would.” She teased.
‘ now , i know we’re all tremendously worried about our dear friend archibald , but , i have the perfect proposal to take our minds off of his current situation . ’ yes , she’s aware a few people don’t want to do that , but she’s not going to put her life on hold because someone got himself arrested . a hand flies out , a flyer being shoved way into the others personal space . it’s almost as if it’s an invite to a party – which , if you think about it , if you take away the free labor , it almost is a party . ‘ raspberry lemonade & tea sandwiches will be provided by moi . all i ask in return is some help renovating thistlehouse . pool is , of course , free to use as well . ’
“That’s one way to get help.” Toni chuckled, leaning against the wall beside her girlfriend. Noticing a few people offering, she didn’t blame them.

lips pursed into a smirk at the comment . cheryl blossom turning a compliment into her own was like a father coming up with every dad joke he could manage . a complete necessity & something that should always be expected of her . ‘ but , tt — i don’t remember asking you for help with a project ? ’ & there it is .
Toni had to admit she hadn’t seen her there when she first said it. “Well, babe. You are the only beautiful girl I wouldn’t complain about helping.” She told her.

“ so you must be toni topaz, huh? yeah, that girl was talking about you and your ‘extremely kind offer..’ name’s jb jones, and by that jacket i assume you know my brother – and my dad. ”
“Well, I try to be an outstanding citizen every once in a while.” The girl chuckled. “Jones? If they are FP and Jughead, I sure do.”
“I don’t know why I agreed to help this chick with this project.” Toni groaned. “No. I know why I agreed. She was incredibly beautiful, that’s why.”
