Here is the pattern once again I already linked it above but just so you have it in one place (while I browsed this person's patterns I found V neck one which has fantastic shape, even better than the one I customised because it's literally what I needed haha)
The pattern is JUST A NORMAL PLAIN VEST and I customised it A LOT
The pattern includes a hour long video tutorial because it's not giving you sts numbers only tools how to calculate it yourself and the important techniques (like short rows, kitchener cast off or how to pick up the stitches for the robbing) I decided on the look - the size and the general shape myself.
The colour chart I figured out myself and it's 10 repeat
The original pattern actually calls for k2p2 ribbing at the bottom but I made it k3p2 for the 5 repeat and to make it more fit as I wanted this waist line very visible. I also knitted on 1.25mm smaller needles not just 1mm just for extra fit
When you look at the back of my vest you can tell where the BOR was, it's because I didn't think about it and I wanted to not have the beginning of the chart in the same place I had my k3p2
If I had a second chance knitting that I would start with the k1p2 then (k3p2) until two sts then k2, the colour work chart should start with the BOR otherwise it looks like a mess
I was counting stitches to cast on I had to make it multiply of 10, not 4 like the pattern said, because of my colour work.
I also encouraged you all to watch the whole video before starting. Putting my BOR on the back and not under one of the arm holes was a mistake I won't be explaining because just don't do it 🤣 you knit back and fron separately so imagine to have BOR on the middle of the panel. But I managed it but it was tedious.
I also realised a bit late that I made back panel a bit too short and I didn't want to redo it, but it was a happy accident! Because at the same time I realised that the chart does not connect perfectly on the shoulders
So I knit an extra few rows (after doing the short rows) of my base colour for sizing it up, creating these stripes on my shoulders, but also it let me connect them with more intent
(please do not look too long on my kitchener cast off I was swearing a lot doing that on the new year's eve at midnight and I did my best it was very hard)
Then I just knitted the arm holes and the neckline ribbing as intended!
Oh and the front neck shaping was just - divide into 3 and reduce by two stitches each side (the same as back panel) but I decided to make it narrower and reduce 5 sts each side for a more round look, you will know what I mean when you check the pattern)
If I wrote something unclear please ask it's super late and I kinda type on the spot!

Hi, these bees are babies! They’re not clumsy at all, this is what is called orientation flights. After birth and before beginning their careers as foragers (as all Honey bees cycle through all the jobs in the Hive throughout their lifespan), Honey bees take short flights back and forth, to and from the Hive, to orient themselves with their wings and their home so they can learn its location and how to get back home after foraging! Everyone has to learn, these are just smol little baby turkeys. Bees use the angle of the sun for location so adults have a better and more direct sense of location than any human
The thing about the moon is maybe you don’t need to write a poem about the moon. The moon’s been done, we’ve discussed it. It’s a coin a mirror an eye a lantern in the darkness. It’s a rock in space. It’s the dang moon we’ve all seen it! Is there something you can notice that’s is more surprising than the moon???
