The day was dragging but the male-only lifted his head from his screen when the sun began to descend from behind the city skyline. His hand rose to his head as he ran his long fingers through the untamed locks of hair that hung around his temple as he huffed a small sigh towards his yet unfinished paperwork but instead of going back to it he resorted to standing up after saving his work and heading towards his front door only taking a few moments to gather his belongings including his jacket and his wallet before he walked out locking the door behind him and heading down the steps of his apartment to the door that leads out of his complex.
The typical British weather greeted him, cold and sharp in its embrace as he headed south towards his local pub pulling the jacket up to protect his neck from the small sharp licks it greeted him with as he walked only stopping once he had reached his destination and pushed the door open walking inside. The smell of beer and cheap perfume greeted him as he wandered inside taking a moment to get used to the odour before he headed towards the bar ordering himself a bottle of beer before paying and walking towards a booth that he usually occupied only to find it taken by a female whoās scent resembled that of blackberries and cinnamon all blended with a small dash of liquorice.
ā Excuse me ā He spoke out clearing his throat a little before he gestured towards the other side of the booth that was unoccupiedĀ Ā
ā Mind if I sit with you? ā

~ Sofya Voloshin
Why was she here? She had told herself she wouldnāt do this again and yet here she was. Perhaps it was to just catch a glimpse of him or maybe she hadnāt truly let him go yet. She told herself this was it. This would be the last time she saw the man who owned her heart and didnāt even know her name.
Stirring the spoon, she focused on the soft singing of the metal against the ceramic. Sofya mind slipped awayātaken under by the painful waves of her memories. Through the darkness, buried beneath the endless heart ache were shining pearls of happiness.
The way his skin felt after a clean shave or the way the sun would hit his hair at just the right angle that it almost looked like he had golden thread woven into his natural hair. She missed itāshe missed him. It wasnāt until a familiar voiceāone in which was beginning to fade from her mindācut through her thoughts that Sofya stopped stirring.
Emerald eyes rose from the mug and only to land on the very manās face she had been so desperate to see. She couldnāt help the soft inhaled she took. A nervous smile fleeting over her face as she withdrew the spoon from her tea.
āSure.ā The response was uncertain and low. How could she say yes? What was wrong with her? It felt like her heart was close to bursting out of her chest and had she still been holding her spoon it may have clattered against the mug.

The small smile that showed nervously along her face brought a small smile to his own lips despite his mood for smiling being low, Emmett slid into the booth taking off his jacket as he sat in the space he was going to stay in before folding it neatly up and placing it towards the window.Ā ā Thank you ā He replied softly, his tone friendlier then it would usually be before he lifted his beer up to his lips downing a few mouthfuls of it. Placing it back down his fingers remained around the bottle before he wandered his eyes over her just for a moment until he looked up at her eyes.
The mixture of colors that stared towards him sparked something in his mind, That part of you that reminds you of people you know in strangers. The beautiful jade eyes reminding him so much of someone he couldnāt remember.
Ā ā This is going to seem a weird thing to ask but have we met?āĀ Ā
