I like that, in at least half of these photos, he does kind of look like he knows heâs in the wrong forest, but doesnât quite know how this keeps happening.

Those of you who read my Ninjago Sins/Wins series, âBlackoutâ was just posted!! Includes the usual comedy, a very lengthy talk about the missed potential of the Lloyd and Garmadon dynamic, and lots and lots and LOTS of love triangle bashing for your reading pleasure
When you think about it, Lloyd's storyline in s9 is actually lowkey kinda funny actually?
Like, think about it. Up to this point, Lloyd has been captured/imprisoned at least once in almost every season. It's kinda his whole ThingTM. Seriously. Try making a tally of all the times he is kidnapped, imprisoned, or otherwise captured/restrained in some way. Its a little depressing, actually.
Now, what's the title of s9? Hunted. What is the premise of s9? Lloyd and the survivors of s8 are being hunted down to be systematically captured and/or killed by the SoG, while the og4 are off in the First Realm facing a very similar crisis with Iron Baron.
How many people are successfully captured/imprisoned in s9? Just off the top of my head weve got the og4, Faith, Wu, a majority of dragons in the First Realm, almost everyone in the Resistance, Harumi, Garmadon if we count him going to jail...
You know who isn't on that list? Lloyd Garmadon. Yknow, the guy who normally gets captured and imprisoned so often its practically a hobby at this point. During a season thats all about people being hunted down and captured. With one of the main plotlines being about Lloyd specifically being an individual to be captured.
And yet, Lloyd isn't. Oh sure, he'll get locked up in a cage any other day of the week, but during the designated Let's Capture Lloyd Season?? Nope! In fact, he's one of the only main characters who isn't captured in this season!!! He even does some capturing of his own!!
Lloyd took a break from being caged for like two weeks and the universe made everyone else compensate for him.
I wonder if on some level Lloyd is hesitant about teaching Arin and Sora because he doesnât want them to experience The HorrorsâąïžâŠâŠâŠ anyways
anybody else notice that lloyd is just having so much fun fighting in dragons rising? Of course, with the more serious villains like the Imperium and stuff like that he can become serious, but overall you see him smile a lot more while fighting.
And it's just super cool to me because it's sorta hinted throughout the seasons that the ninja think of certain villains as below them. Like uhh i forgot who but didn't kai or someone call the Mechanic a "third tier" villain in season 6, whereas nadakhan was first tier.
And it could be associated with arrogance but honestly? I just think the ninja know their jobs. Their jobs are to basically keep ninjago together and the citizens alive. Anyone that is a major threat can be handled by them, whereas anyone less than them will be handled by the police force.
But the thing is, the ninja LOVE fighting! They spar all the time, of course to keep their stamina up, but also because they find it fun! Cole was ITCHING to fight for half of the older seasons, and Kai always rushes into them. Even Jay seems to have fun with them. It makes sense that they would see low-level villains that they can easily beat as a game, as something amusing. And yes, there's probably an ego boost in there. Like "lol look at that guy that i just beat in 0.5 seconds while the police are struggling for a day to find and arrest him."
So I honestly just see Lloyd in Dragons Rising as having fun. Low level thugs like the guards in Imperium that he can just flaunt his skills to and maybe add a few flourishes to the fight that he'd never be able to use in a real fight...maybe a little flip that Jay had taught him, or a special spin that Kai showed him. And when he's fighting Wyldfire he's just!! Amused!!!
Ther''s also probably an added "PLEASE these ppl think they can beat ME?" to the mix. Again, it might look like arrogance...but think about this. It's deserved arrogance. Lloyd has literally beaten the master of evil itself. Twice. And here's this 15 year old Kai equivilant raving about killing him. It must be really amusing to him. He is very skilled, professional, and powerful. He knows his worth. Humility is hard to have when you were forced to carry the burden of the world at 9 years old.
- âThereâs a reason [Wuâs] lived as long as he has.â Yeah, because heâs part of nearly every mythical, immortal creature in the book. Thereâs so many different forms of magical DNA in this guy that, frankly, Iâm surprised he isnât radioactive â
- âYou guys go ahead. I will stay back and watch [the blades].â Wow, they didnât even try to argue with him, huh? The DISRESPECT â
- Wait, why does Nya like Cole? We saw that the two were assigned as a perfect match, but we never saw hints of Nya actually liking him and now weâre supposed to believe sheâs suddenly in love with both of them? What?? â

- Seriously though, this is such an awful line considering Jay is her canon love interest. And donât say they didnât know Jaya was gonna be canon because I do not believe there was a second they were actually going to make Cole and Nya a thing â
- Iâm not even gonna sin them for tweaking Garmadonâs design from the end of last season because this one is objectively better â
- âCheck out the new Sensei⊠lookin sharp!â Jay is a Garmadon simp confirmed and I really donât know if thatâs a sin or not anymore
- How did Zane not notice the blades being stolen from in front of him? He clearly wasnât sleeping, and Pixal later even says she wasnât built for stealth â
- âPixal? What are you doing?â âDiscontinuing an old droid!â D*mn â
- Was that even a Pixal scream? It sounded a lot like Nya â
- âHow about we take her apart to find out!â Jeez Kai calm down. Imagine what the others would say if he wanted to dismember a human â
- âRelax, not a weapon!â Then why didnât they just bring them inside in the first place?!?! â
- âThese nindroids are so much fas-â Give me perfectly timed cuts for 400 Alex â
- âwouldnât that mean shutting down Pixal too?â âDonât tell Zane!â The ninja donât even seem to consider Pixal as a living entity. They only even take her into account as a reference to Zane, nothing else. You canât convince me they would be this chill about taking out the power if a humanâs life was on the line. Basically what Iâm saying is the ninja are racist â
- âWe are all different, but I do not feel so different around youâŠââŹïž â
- âEver since we left Iâve been worried about [the students].â âOh, Darethâs looking after them.â Was that supposed to ease Coleâs worries cuz Iâm pretty sure it made them worse â
- âYa know, Cole, you donât get the credit you deserve. You always put others ahead of yourself! I know the other ninja get all the attention but I just want you to know, youâre a good guy.â This is literally just the writers trying to convince us to care about Cole at a point in which such a small amount of the fandom actually did. I love Cole, I always have, but I think anyone who was in the fandom prior to the Wildbrain era can attest to how ignored he was as a character. This went off on a small rant so to clarify, Iâm not sinning this because of how underrated Cole used to be (personally I think thatâs more the fandom at the timeâs fault than the show itself). Iâm sinning this because it felt awkward and forced â
- âDonât tell Jay.â Why? There was nothing inherently romantic about that line, or this situation in general, so what is there to not tell Jay? â
- âThis is where all of Ninjago gets its power.â Zane mansplains something that even Dareth should be able to determine Pixal already knows â
- âI will call you Mindroid!â *angry mindroid noises* Worry not, Mindroid. One day we will join together and seek vengeance against all those who mock us with labels like âfun-sizedâ and âvertically challenged.â We are living versions of the pocket knife - cleverly concealed until the final moments in which we are revealed to deliver the killing blow.
- âStupid technology!â Kai said, to the glass case â
- âoh who cares about probability!â this is character development⊠I have absolutely no idea where it came from or how Pixal developed but it sure is there â
- How unlucky was Pix that she just happened to land on the ONE laser weâve seen throughout this entire episode? â
- *Mindroid breaks into office* âGreat! Now they come in fun-sized!â â
- âThis is no time for a lesson, Kai!â Actually, the climax generally is the time for the lesson, Jay
- The nindroids might have Storm Trooper aim but that doesnât make it okay for the ninja to dodge in the worst possible way just to show off â
- Lloyd - beloved Green Bean - youâre supposed to cup the water in your hands, sweetie⊠not just stick your whole face in the pond like youâre bobbing for apples⊠â
- âThis is why I took an oath of peace!â Why? So you and your son could get mauled by a giant, robotic dragon?? â
- Mindroid dies, and although killing him is 100% sinnable by death, this is actually a sin because he appears unscathed later on multiple times â
- Why does it take so long for Pixal to lose power? â
- âYour mission was important. I was not. I am to assist; I assisted.â The show never acknowledges how tragic this scene is. Well, it does, but only with Pixane, not Pixal as her own character. We constantly get to see glimpses of Pixalâs insecurities, but rarely see them built on or developed. â
- The only source of power for ALL of Ninjago is operated by this one tower and no one thought that was a bad idea â
- âWe are compatible?â âYes, yes we are.â â
- Look, Pixane is my favorite canon ship, but I still hate the way it happened. It was rushed, under-developed, and just didnât feel right. â
- But also, Pixal only has feelings for Zane once itâs obvious that he feels that way about her so⊠recipromantic Pixal canon? â
the ninjas to each other in the later seasons: "i love you guys so much, we're in this together!!! i'll always be here for you <3"
the ninjas to each other in the early seasons: "shut up, you are SO ugly. i hate you. i will punch you straight into the departed realm, you stupid dumb moron idiot. fuck you."
I petition that it is pointless to try and put a number to Lloydâs age
Therefore, his official canon age is simply âyounger than everyone elseâ
Doesnât matter what age the other characters are, nor how many years have passed. Heâs always younger than literally every other character in the canon of the show
Any of the ninja? Lloydâs younger. Arin and Sora? Lloydâs still younger. Lilâ Nelson? Lloydâs younger 100%.
Anytime someone asks how old he is the ninja just say âhe isnât.â His official age on legal documents is âN/Aâ
