richter and annette fighting side by side in-sync just like his ancestors did with each other all their adult lives. richter being annette's comfort and safety that she reaches for as soon as she feels herself getting overwhelmed. richter promising to protect annette if they got trapped in that alcove. richter watching over annette while she goes into the spirit world. richter wanting to go after her even though it would've been useless for him but simply wanting to be there so annette can have an anchor. richter pacing a hole into the floor the moment he saw annette floating. richter reassuring annette that he's there with her even though he's unsure if she can hear him while she's still on her spiritual journey.

richter being terrified the moment he realises annette is not annette. richter keeping half his focus on "annette" throughout the entire battle. richter making a bed of ice for "annette" to remain cool because her body is burning. richter always jumping in front of "annette" in the middle of the final battle the moment it seemed like erzsebet or drolta's focus became turned on her. richter despairing and grabbing onto "annette" and saying fuck the world when "annette" began merging the ba, the ka and the akh back together because he doesn't care about eternal darkness if she's not there with him.

richter after seeing the three souls be reemerged, holding onto annette's unconscious body. richter pleading and begging annette to come back to him because it's unacceptable to him a world that doesn't have her in it. richter's voice being one of annette's guides back home. richter being a source of home for annette. richter sobbing and hugging annette so tightly once she comes back to him.

richter immediately setting annette down tenderly and once again stepping in front of her because he knows she's done enough and her safe and sound is all the empowerment he needs to lock the fuck in. richter and annette relishing the victory in each other's arms and not wanting to be away from one another. richter looking disappointed and sad when annette says she's going back home. richter immediately agreeing to follow annette when she asks him to come with her. richter turning into a babbling geek immediately after kissing annette. richter and annette sleeping peacefully and safe in each other's arms as the final shot of the season.

the fact that Castlevania purists are crying and shitting their pants because Annette was turned from a dansel in distress to a badass WOC will forever be the biggest clowns in the entire world. We all know that they dont care about Annette from the game because Annette wasnt even a character; she was literally a plot device. She was the prise, the reward for bodying dracula after 50 hours of gameplay.

Annette in Nocture is a badass woman of color who's primary backstory evolves her escaping vampire slavery in the carribian during the 18th century french revolution. She fights alongside Richter and she's falls in love with him because of it.

Besides, we all know that the only reason castlevania purists bring up Annette not being the same is because they don't like her being black in the first place.

She's black. she's beautiful. She's kicking vampire butt and she's getting Belmont ass in the process.

Castlevania ended with Dracula and Lisa on a bed content and at peace. Nocturne ended with Richter and Annette asleep content and at peace. Poetic cinema!
