don’t study because you need or have to.
study because knowledge is power.
study because they can never take it away from you.
study because you want to know more.
study because it enhances you.
study because it grows you.
lol me after I study for 15 minutes without using my phone
+monday 24th september, 2018 || not pictured – messy notes, tear-filled tissues, pin-board of readings & an overwhelming amount of caffeinated beverages. oh biomed, how you never fail to keep me busy.

Revising semiotics takes me back to first year, being confused by Barthes and procrastinating assignments. Not much has changed.
(Also finished Part One of Crime & Punishment yesterday and it was WILD!! I am not okay send help)

I’m bad at keeping up with social media.. I recently went to Oklahoma (I live in Maine) and had to visit the Museum of Osteology! Here’s a few photos. I need a megaloceros :D But it was really cool as someone interested in zoology and comparative anatomy. I took hundreds of photos for drawing references, some rare animals can be really hard to find references of.

Video 1: A time-lapse look at how Alzheimer’s spreads: This computer simulation shows how two forms of Alzheimer’s disease spread through the brain over a 30 year period. The orange shading shows how clumps of defective amyloid-beta proteins form memory-destroying plaques. The blue shading shows how defects involving the tau protein follow a different progression. The final sequences show how each of these contagions come to engulf the brain.
Video 2 (Below): The final stages of tau (blue) progression in someone with Alzheimer’s. The effects of Alzheimer’s disease on the brain often go unnoticed for years, even decades. But researchers at Stanford University and the University of Oxford believe they’ve found a way to visualize how the disease slowly spreads and erodes the brain—a tool they hope can help other scientists better study the incurable, fatal ailment and others like it.

I ended up buying some stuff from the bookstore because I have an English writing exam next week and I’m not allowed to use a dictionary app. So… here we go again with physical ones. Also, 15% student discount is a blessing.
By the way, the prof decided to play a quiz game and rewarded the students with some candies. I got two mini chocolate bars from him, hell yeah.
(I’m actually a five-year-old, everyone.)
As you can see from my massive reblogs, I got an afternoon off and spent time on this hell site… but I have a Spanish quiz tomorrow, welp. Procrastination at its finest, guys.

This has been sitting in my drafts for quite a while, but here’s a throwback to this summer when I was working on philosophy research & my school’s library was completely empty!
