Animal Crossing is lovely because it makes the most mundane things interesting. Like the red cherry print on my real-life bag I take to work now--it's really just a pretty design, but I love it because it also makes me think of my ACNH island. With those perfectly-rendered, round, shiny little twin cherries you get to pick every day (well, every third day if you harvest them all, lol). And by extension, that reminds me of my sweet villagers like Candi and Marcie and Bud and Gonzo, and all the little chores I'd like to do, when I get back "home" to my in-game garden and beaches, and my in-game fluffy warm cardboard-and-patchwork bedroom, with its cute round yellow radio playing "Stale Cupcakes" as a lullaby.
I love this little game so much.
