SATX on Vimeo
Hello All,
So it's been a while since I talked about SATX. It's been available for almost five months on Vimeo On Deman, and we've had some amazing responses and opportunities upcoming from its availability. It's a microbudget Texas film, so it's not going to set the world on fire, but it's far exceeded my expectations/hopes/dreams.
But at the same time it's been bittersweet, because I want everybody to see this movie, and see the amazing work everybody did on it, and I get very down on myself when that doesn't happen. And it hasn’t happened as much as I hoped. The movie has flaws; I’m the first to admit it. But then again, Grown Ups 2 made $133 million dollars, and it’s a steaming pile of things I shouldn’t say here.
But after speaking with some of the most incredible people in my life, and listening to some sage wisdom by a screenwriter I look up to very highly, I'm starting to come to grips with being happy for what I've accomplished and proud of getting to do something very few people get to do - make a movie.
With that said, I've lowered the price of SATX on Vimeo On Demand to 0.99. I am unable to make it free because of Vimeo restrictions on On Demand, but considering .99 is less than the price of an absolutely awful Billboard No. 1 Hit Song (One Direction's "Diana"), I'd say that's pretty much free.
I lower the price
a) because I'm pretty tired of worrying about tax bs, and although making it free would be easier, making it .99 is as close as i can get.
b) because I want you to see it and this means you have no excuse.
c) because this movie wasn't about making money. It was about fulfilling a dream and making the best movie we could make. I have a major inferiority thing, so I'm not sure I held up my end of the bargain in that respect, but everybody else involved with this movie did. And they deserve to be recognized for the amazing work they did.
d) because it's actually pretty good.
So anyway. Watch SATX. You may like it and make yourself some bacon. You may absolutely hate it and order a hamburger. Like, really hate it, and REALLY order a hamburger. Or you may say “wow, that was 94 minutes of my life. I think I’m going to go eat a pork loin.”
I really want you to go eat some form of cooked pig. But I think that meal would taste better after watching SATX.
Thanks everybody. I didn’t make it for you, but if you watch the movie, I might get to make another, and maybe it’ll be for you.
Love, Tyler
