is there a good place to catch up on all the new mcr lore??
I'm actually gonna use this as a springboard for a semi-comprehensive "lore we know" post so thank you
Known lore in order, to the best of my memory and knowledge, including everything I think is important to know/remember
MCRchive dropbox of ring of fire shows - secretary costume evoloution and drumheads
Tour announcement Instagram post, first look at the font
Tour trailer one - be sure to read video description closely
Tour trailer two - opera
Tour trailer three - feast
Mexico Tour Drop - this is probably the most lore heavy thing yet
Cryptic pre-show instagram post
First tiktok of the new Mama bridge, where we discover the dagger and Marianne
Actual show
Rules displayed before the show in English and Keposhka
Tucker Rule's drummer hat says DNAB
Security are dressed as MOAT guards or maybe fellow inmates
Marianne is blind or visually impaired and needs guidance to get on stage, and walks with a cane
Clown guy is probably called "the clerk"
Crew shirts are from the "ministry of menial tasks"
Setlist in Keposhka, is from the "Ministry of Complimentary Conditioning"
Onscreen missile launch text transcribed
New Mama bridge transcribed
Mother doesn’t love you anymore
Imag cameras bear the logo of the news station from the Mexico drop
Keposhka font faces
Phenomenally detailed Keposhka transcription info
I think this is all we have so far. Lord knows I have forgotten something please everyone let me know if I missed anything!!
New Mama Lyrics from soundcheck & the actual show compared
Shirt tags phrasing & translation/key
The clown appears to call the dictator after Gerard is murdered
There’s some text on the wanted posters in the corner here I haven’t seen translated yet if anyone wants to be the decoder. “Ministry of Operatic Relations” spotted in the same thread
SPECTACULAR Keposhka Cursive by @omtai and @pikslasrce
Marianne seems to be played by an opera singer who is conclusively NOT named Marianne, confirming that Marianne is the character’s name, not just Gerard talking to the actor, and that her visual impairment and cane are deliberate in-universe choices
UPDATE TIME
San Francisco full show
Gerard looking dazed/confused at the start of the show
Gerard's Pre-Cancer Ad Read
Setlist - Still "Ministry of Complementary Conditioning" at the bottom
New paper says "Mother wants you disciplined"
The rest of the band reacting to the execution, suggesting Gerard is dazed/hypnotized/out of it in some way and everyone else maybe isn't
Jamie is a collaborator
Gerard's pre-execution phone call + proof they don't explain what yay or nay means before the crowd votes
The dictator has the other phone
Assorted theories courtesy me
Gerard's medal up super close, still not quite readable, but we can see 1977 on it
on to next week!
OKAY LEGGO
LA1 didn't have a whole lot of new developments, but LA2 had some major ones.
LA1:
New Rule - Nothing to see here, with the logo that's on Jamie's laptop (Jamie's in on this somehow).
Full Show (vertical video. I'm so sorry. This is the only full show that's turned up so far)
The first document read from LA1 - Gerard saying "everything's gonna be okay." It seems no one caught this paper, and we have no idea what it said.
Terms and Conditions before the execution
The Hot Dog bit before the "exlexecution"
Entire bit, with Gerard freestyling the outcome (clear vote "yes", played as 50/50)
The Clerk has a list in keposhka. There are multiple translation attempts around. Some disagreement over "snotty one" or "shouty one," but no one has been able to crack the first line.
There's new video on the extra screens - the man with the carnation from the trailers is watching the show and taking notes.
I'm struggling to find video of the Clerk confrontation (it was standard), but it ended with this FYC for the dictator.
LA2:
There was a lot this night, hoo boy
Next rule - "You've seen nothing"
Gerard and the Clerk speak after the first paper transfer. It's either "Death to all who oppose," or spoken Keposhka. No one is sure - I would love someone to turn up barricade footage of this.
Paper says "A horse with a silver tail neighs on a high hill." Apparently a riddle, the answer to which is "clock tower."
The hot dog execution, which I cannot even begin to explain
It's not included in that video, but after this Gerard quietly says "I prefer ketchup myself," which like, in context, seems a bit like they're saying they didn't want to kill them
SO MANY ANGLES OF GERARD FIGHTING BACK AGAINST THE SLAP. this is HUGE. They're LEARNING from the loops. This is a new injury (eyes), there is a real possibility they will appear with either black eyes or white contacts again in Texas. Oh god I cannot wait for Texas.
Instead of reading Murder magazine this time, they oh so lovingly read a book about toy trains to the dummy.
Immediately after they can be seen reaching desperately for the doll when the crew takes it offstage
The entire saga of the Inspekta Plushie, which ?might actually be plot referential somehow what.?
Okay I think this is everything major. please let me know what I missed!! Now we wait for Arlington
TEXAS TIME!
LOTS here let's go
Full Show Recording
The Clerk had an altercation with a crewmember (appears to actually be Jeremy Lambert) onstage before the show
Gerard's makeup and facial injuries are, while not yet secretary level, definitely getting worse. They are extremely pale and the injuries to the left side of their face are getting bloodier and more obvious.
The Clerk brought Gerard out onstage, basically propping them in place
Gerard opens the show with “and Richard, this is the last time you dirty this armored suit.” No clue what this means.
"Stars and Stripes forever" was played VERY loudly before the elexecution. deliciously unsubtle.
One of the execution victims survived, and earned a 2009 "Baruva Dart" with a goat in the back seat as a prize. Whether the "brand new 2009" car is notable for the timeline placement of the lore is up for debate.
The salute and spoken something are back. I'm fairly certain by now that this is "death to all who oppose." Thus far, no one has come forward with this note.
Gerard got smacked HARD, no dodging or outsmarting this time, but did not follow the note's demands. Someone noted that the laugh track only plays when Gerard disobeys whatever the note presumably demands.
Pre-Sleep puppet baby segment was absolutely lethal. Gerard reads their ?child? a book about insects while cradling them gently in their lap. This is turning out to be absolute bone hurting juice and it's getting more and more painful every time.
Gerard "calls their mom" on the red phone before being put back into the jacket. We don't hear any of the convo, but at one point they hand the clerk the phone, which seems to piss him off big time.
The clown is starting to look seriously distraught after stabbing Gerard. He eventually becomes himself again, but he's beginning to look as if he doesn't want to stab them, or even like he doesn't know he's doing it.
This weekend is Jersey. May god be with us all.
UPDATE TIME!!!
Sorry I'm Behind on this one folks. I thought it was gonna be easier to keep track of what happened in Jersey being there it was actually MUCH HARDER. But it's finally Weekend and I have time. Jersey was fairly tame, lore wise, but Philly was like. One william new things. Let's goooooo
We got a new lore-heavy video to lightly tease the London show announcement. One of the contestants is powering the set. Also the structure of this game show is very strange if you think about it for a second. The running theory right now is that the voice of Quizzo is Gerard. I can't wait to find out for sure one day if this is true or not.
JERSEY
Full Show Recording
Tonight You Belong To Me was replaced in the pre-show by 76 Trombones from The Music Man. For the unfamiliar, The Music Man is a musical about a con man who swoops in on a conservative town and whips them all into a moral panic about how the new pool hall is going to morally ruin their children, unless 👆 they give him a bunch of money and let him start a boy's band. subtle! Also the female lead/love interest in The Music Man is called Marian. Marianne?
The Dictator has spaghetti tonight
No jokey fake place tonight, probably because, well, New Jersey. The Black Parade is home!! Gerard's accent is truly just floating between 12 different countries now.
The salute & spoken something continue for the first note handoff. I'm fairly certain now this is "death to all who oppose."
Tonight's note says "To avoid further premature shift departures, a time-card system is being introduced to the MOAT work release program."
The (weird conservative) mayor of Belleville gave the band the key to the city. Gerard and Mikey did an adorable job of pretending to have no idea who this "My Chemical Romance" band is, and then gave the mayor a "Gubrik fish, from the Gubrik river."
Gerard is lampshading the executions now - "let's fuckin kill some people!" Nothing particularly notable from this execution, probably for time reasons, though this is a notable instance of Gerard actually telling the crowd what their vote does. As always, it doesn't matter. No survivors.
The slap. They ripped up the note this time!!!! And are getting, I think, waaaay more brazen every week tbh. He looks extra defeated after, though.
Gerard's baby is called "The Gentleman." They "met in prison." Gerard implies the dagger bit is "his" idea.
NEW MARIANNE LORE DROP! “When she sings, she can see everything”
Gerard changes the repeated second half of the dagger verse to "is just what this ANIMAL needs"
The reading material for the Sleep transition is "The Quantum Realm." Gerard read it while shoveling cold spaghetti into their face.
The Clerk threatens to throw Gerard's baby in order to get them to put the jacket back on. They panic and yell to get him to stop, and put the jacket on with minimal argument.
The clown is starting to look SERIOUSLY distraught after stabbing Gerard. He doesn't seem like he's having fun anymore.
This has no lore relevance at all I just want everyone to look at this picture.
PHILLY
Oh my good lord so much happened.
Full show recording
Black Parade set only in much better quality
Someone found a fragment of a sign reading “Chicken Or Fish” with Keposhka on it outside the venue before the show. This sign has been confirmed real. More on this later
WE HAVE ALL NEW RULES. I don't even know where to begin unpacking how much there is in here. The dates displayed in the rules suggest these rules apply only here and in Tampa. This suggests we will probably be back to the normal rules for the coming handful of shows. Or not? I feel so unable to predict ANYTHING AT ALL anymore.
The large screens showed a view outside a prison cell with a camera overlay, suggesting we’re seeing the view outside a prison cell through a camera
I’ve struggled to find good photos that show this - hopefully a few will appear soon and I’ll update when they do - but Gerard’s face is a LOT worse now. The cuts and scratches on the other side of their face are the most intense they’ve been so far, noticeably more so than in Jersey. It seems like we’re at a major milestone in the story.
The band opened the show by punching their time cards, as stated by the previous show’s note
Unsurprisingly, the dictator has a cheese steak.
Also, “the handsomest man I know and they don’t just have a gun to my head!”
The return of the “dirty armor” line from Texas, but rephrased a bit.
Gerard does the “wrong” salute during the first note handoff, saluting in a traditional military style instead of the pseudo-fascist DRAAG salute. This seems to majorly piss off the clerk. To my knowledge we don’t have this note yet.
THE CHICKEN OR FISH SIGN APPEARS - in Gerard’s hand. This is the only one we’ve seen. None were given out to the crowd. The meaning of this bit is unclear, but the fact there’s only one of them and it’s onstage raises a bunch of questions about how the one outside got there. The running theory is that it was deliberately planted.
The pre-cancer note handoff confrontation seemed really intense to me? Gerard got so loud you can hear them yelling. They start to rip the note, hesitate, then look to the crowd for encouragement - only then actually ripping the note.
Sleep Transition Reading Material tonight is a puzzle book. No Baby & Mama Quality Time in the transition tonight.
Dagger song lyric adjustment from “I’ve got a secret” to “HE’S got a secret,” meaning The Gentleman. This aligns with NJ’s implication that the dagger plot is “his” idea.
Gerard more or less mimed stabbing the clerk also and he looks NERVOUS
MARIANNE LORE DROP NUMBER 2! She was sold by her father to One Direction My Chemical Romance!
The Clerk smacked Gerard’s ass after putting them back into the jacket (which he didn’t fight at all, maybe the threats from last time are still scaring them?) there’s no HR in the fuckin MOAT man
The clown has LOST IT lost it and is sobbing into the phone after stabbing Gerard. Lip reading suggests he’s saying “I don’t wanna do this anymore, I wanna go home.”
I might be missing something but I will tack on anything that I run across.
Toronto next week! I swear god I’m gonna take notes this time.
