Basically i reject on principle any stance framing "having a lot of sex" as anything other than purely neutral. I don't think the amount of sex someone has is any indication of who they are. I don't think having a lot of sex makes you a bad person. And, more critically for my own audience, i don't think having a lot of sex makes you cool or based, either. I think we shouldn't have to carve out an exception for people who don't want to have sex from the implied "people who don't have a lot of sex are lame". I think we should all maybe treat people who are asexual as if they're a normal part of life and not some weird deviation a girl you follow on Tumblr yells about every once in a while that you otherwise don't have to think about unless they're writing porn for you or handing out water bottles at your orgy.

#whenever theres an article circulating about how “gen z are having less sex than previous gens because of XYZ”#it feels a little patronising bc theres an assumption that it's a problem that needs to be fixed bc of incels or whatever #there is smth to be said for how its more difficult to form lasting relationships when you switch jobs often or spend a lot of time online #or are unemployed #all are much more common now #but there are a lot of people who dont want a partner and dont want to have sex and never will #and that's not inherently a “failed life without having taken a risk” or any other kind of pathology bc non sexual relationships exist #and are fulfilling to people who are fulfilled by them. its a tautology but some people really dont get asexuality or just lack of interest #in sexual relationships. and it can be for whatever reason too. like traumatic or not #and the pressure to get married and have kids still exists! and is still a coercive force in ppls lives #and there is a separate issue of censorship and the reactionary tendency to attribute perversion or moral danger to sexuality #particularly for lgbt #also. nothing inherently wrong with a pervert.#but that depends. it all depends
