Been working on this for a week or two. I don’t know if I want to go too detailed like Fox and Rocket. Either way I handed a waterpark to know this is NOT FINISHED! I wanted to do Patch and Wolf cause they both got an eye patch hehe 😋
The passage of the seasons - Spring defeating Winter
Inspired by a short story in which Spring is embodied by a bring who faces winter and demands every living thing to awaken and fight to conquer a place on earth
Ya’ll spammed me on my Fox and Rocket drawing 😭 also I would give updates on the drawing, but sadly my Apple pen didn’t charge cause I do have a new case for my tablet and somehow it didn’t charge with it. I hope I get the drawing done soon. For now I’m probably gonna do another drawing on paper until the pen charges. So far this was the only last update I did when I posted it on my insta story. Which was yesterday morning.
I’m sorry it’s taken so long to add the next part of this series. I’ve gone through a few medical issues regarding my fertility the last few months and big family announcements. As a result everything has been very emotional and I haven’t been able to get myself to sit down and write. But all that to say I’m ready to post my next slow burn chapter and get to the angst of these two anti love birds.
Enjoy!
His eyes stare into mine. I can only hear the blood rushing in my ears. He looks lost, like he’s searching for a place to find safe harbor. He grabs the blanket and with one motion it's off of him and on the floor. I forget he’s naked, but I find that his nudeness isn’t exploitative; but instead there's a rawness under the moonlight of the island. “Stay out of my head.” His throat is dry and I can hear his breathing beginning to level to its normal pace. “I’m sorry. You seemed in pain.” His eyes find mine again as he looks over his shoulder. His gaze softens for a moment forgetting I’m not his enemy, then the animal peaks its way through again. His eyes narrow and his rage returns.
The crickets fill the silence in the room. His breathing fills in the words I would otherwise try to break the quiet with. He leaves. He enters the bathroom and I hear water running. Laying back down I stare at the ceiling. He’s painted or had someone paint the ceiling with wolves and mountains. Odd considering everything else in his home is functional and not artistic. The light of the moon fades, and the sun takes its place. Nothing crosses my mind until I hear the water stop. By this moment it had been going for a while. I lift my head to not see Logan, not even a shadow. No trace of him at all. My legs swing over the side of the bed and as my feet touch the floor its an odd sensation of warmth instead of the obvious cold of Jotenheim. I put the thought aside and make my way to the bathroom. He’s gone. The window is open and the morning light moving with the island breeze flitting the curtains back and forth.

The day went on without so much as a sound concerning Logan. I dressed myself in what I had worn the evening before, but in all honesty it wasn't to the liking of this island. The material stifled me. Perhaps it was my fathers last wish for me to be in such an uncomfortable situation. This is something I intended to remedy immediately.
The sun was high in the sky now. I couldn’t get my hair off my skin, but I did find that being out in the sun like this wasn’t comfortable. I love the new found sunlight in this new life, though… It doesn’t seem to agree with me. It seems to burn me, unlike the snow back home. A new twinge of home sickness hits me like the hot breeze of Krakoa. I already miss the snow fields I used to play in as a child. I miss being so close to my mothers body where I could visit her grave. I have to put these thoughts behind me.
The market where I found the majority of those who live here seemed to congregate ahead of me. Mothers, fathers and their children walked together shopping. Some had blue skin like mine, others red like the flames in the mead halls. Others looked what I assumed was normal here in this realm. Their gifts were on full display, and it made my heart grateful they had such a safe place to enjoy life.
The talks between my people and theirs worried me. I was afraid that even perhaps I was too strange for them. An outsider among outsiders. But no one seemed to bat an eye as I walked through the market.

Dresses hung from a stall built from the material of the island. Flowers encircling the entrance. They were alive as the people here and the land itself. I entered and found a small family consisting of a father, mother and two young children. As they turned they appeared surprised to see me. The husband looked up since I was quite a bit taller than him. “How can we help you?” The wife nodded to me. I gave a curt smile back in response and held my hands to the front of my person as I looked around once more then back at the mother. “I need a dress that will suit me for this weather.” She looked my body up and down and nodded again. “You would be right. As beautiful as that dress is my dear, that fabric is too much for this climate." she waved me back behind the shop. “I may have something that will fit you.” I followed her back.
_
After some time of looking through fabric and many dresses. The shop owner found a glorious white dress which shimmered in the daylight. It looked like pearls and the way the wind carried the fabric it looked like the waves of the sea. I ran my hand over the dress and could contain the breath I took in. “It’s marvelous.” I whispered. “Try it on. If it fits you can wear it out. If not, I’ll make sure I give some alterations to it.” She pushed me into a tine room and shut a curtain behind me, it was very similar to a changing screen.
I slip the dress on and find it weighs close to nothing. It frames my breasts like no other dress in my life has. It falls just shirt of above my ankle, and I see that my feet are bare for the first time ever as well. The back is open and I can feel the breeze tickle my back. I never knew I could love a piece of clothing so much.
I step out of the room and walk a few steps loving how it feels across my skin. “It fits you perfectly.” The woman nods and gathers up my dress from the stall. “I’ll wrap this up for you.” She mentions my dress from my home. “Will you need any shoes for the island?” The woman asks and I look down. My bare feet seem fine, perhaps another time. “I rather like having the freedom of not wearing shoes.” She nods and puts the dress down. “Most here do.” I meet her at the front of her shop and stop just shy of the entrance. “What do I owe you madam?” I am very aware I don’t have any kind of currency on me. “Not a thing. I understand you’re new here, and us mutants have to stick together. We don’t use currency. We do however have a trades and goods system.” She looked around the shop. “Tell you what, if you can help me organize this place we'll call it even.” I was again taken aback. This place continued to become stranger and stranger.
“Of course. Call on me when you want my help and I’m sure I will assist you.” I Gave her a nod and thanked her again and left the store with my old dress in one hand and my new dress on.
The freedom was over powering my senses. The sun was pleasant once more. I watched people gather in the center of this shopping square and watch an entertainer play his instruments and have a fire breathing act in between all the singing.
Then I saw him.
He sat at a wooden bench, reading some kind of tome. He seemed to be entrenched in it, or trying to keep his mind off of our current situation. I went back and forth about what I should do. Join him or leave him be. I made the mistake to join him.
