Wings, the first thing he noticed. He hadnât met anyone else with what looked to be permanent wings. âYouâve got them too?â
âYeah. You first.â It wasnât like there was a âwing pals internationalâ where everyone can catch up on why the hell the other has wings. So Carter was curious to hear all about it.
âIn a way.â
The manâs answer, though, confused him, and the Prince tilted his head to the side, considering the words of the other. âCurseâŠ? How soâŠ?â
âItâs a long story really. It involves a cursed ceremonial dagger and a prince who couldnât keep it in his pants. Let me give you a good advice. Next time you consider having an affair with a priestess - donât do it.â
Something told him this beau here knew a thing or two about magic and magical objects. âHow about I tell you more if you tell me what you mean with âin a wayâ? Youâre wearing armor, so youâre a warrior, yes?â
@savagexhawk
âI have never seen a winged one outside of Olympus beforeâŠâ
The Olympus? As in, where the greek gods resided?
âIâve got these because Iâm...cursed.â That was what had happened, in a nutshell. âBut Iâm human. You however, youâre not, are you?â

sacred ibis with backlight.. by MargittaThomann http://ift.tt/297OVqK
tim was HAPPY with carter, even with his wings and talons the older man still held him as though nothing had changed. he felt COMFORTABLE and more importantly SAFE with carter. that was the only reason he was stepping out onto the balcony and shaking out his wings. giving carter a NERVOUS smile he says âso if i fall that means everyone gets to see it right?â only half joking.Â
taking a deep breath he jumped out over the balcony, nothing but air under him and extended his wings to catch him. this part wasnât the worst, it was similar to how he used his cape. from here he could glide easily, then came the DIFFICULT part. focusing on his wings he flapped them- attempting them to move how he wanted them too. the result was a jerky move upward but at least he hadnât FALLEN.Â
âYou wonât fall.â He didnât just say that to encourage Tim, but because he really believed it. Unless wings were suddenly coming off, they never failed you. Neither did his magical once, nor did Timâs. Carter wasnât certain of what nature Timâs wings were, but he had faith in them.
He saw where the first mistake was. Flying closer to the younger, he positioned himself right blow him, turned onto his back, so that he was looking up at Tim from below. âGive your wings a bit more time to stretch through. One slow flap, like this.â He showed him what he meant with his own wings, the movement slow but fluid. âYou need to get enough air above and below them before pulling through. If you do it too sudden, you just waste energy.â
Speaking of meeting the magician Edward remembered his encounter with her and the Titans. Â
âYou can buy a ticket to any of her shows and see her, personally, no? Donât you read newspapers?â Zatannaâs shows and events were often published in the daily papers. Itâs a magic show after all.
Man, he really wanted to tear Riddler a new one, and they werenât even that far in the conversation. Alright. Deep breath. Bruce would be mad if he did that, Batman called dibs on all his Gotham looneys.
âYou donât say.â he deadpanned. I mean, outside of a show. Actually meeting her. Her showâs real magic, but when he turns it on for a fight, phew.â He bore his teeth, pristine and sharp. âThatâs when real miracles happen.â
âBefore I get your hopes up, you should I know I hate when people try to tell me how to run my life. So it goes double for destiny forcing me into something. But Iâm giving you a chance, mister⊠And Iâm a tiny bit of a foodie.â
âFair enough.â That was his whole stance too basically, it would be hypocritical of him to disregard how Kendra felt about the whole ordeal just because he happened to remember they belonged together first. Or well, not remember but acknowledge it. âCanât say I like this whole fate thing entirely, but Iâm trying to make the best of it.â He smiled at her response. âArenât I lucky? Iâll show you my favourite steak house.â
Etrigan let out a gruff grunt of relief as the harpy essentially EXPLODED off of his back. Literally, a weight had been lifted from his shoulders, and he carelessly stretched his arms in quite the satisfied manner, his fingers interlocking midair in order to crack at his knuckles.Â
âO, good bird, thou art my hero! It shall be no problem to reduce these harpys to ZERO.â Etrigan exclaimed, a nasty grin spreading across his lips as he JUMPED into the air, following the otherâs idea of roasting those ugly things. one of the creatures let out an agonizing SHRIEK as she came face to face with the flames of hell from Etriganâs mouth.
All of this violence only thrilled him. After so long PLAYING GOOD with Batman, it felt so freeing to let loose that rather animal nature that had always been harbored deep in the demon. After all, he was hell-born. He was no tame lamb, and would never be.
Etrigan let a mighty flame burst forth as he listened to the otherâs words with little interest â after all, he wasnât necessarily an analytical mind, nor did he care much about the CAUSE for violence. Etrigan waved his hand dismissively once the other finished speaking as he lunged towards the last of the ugly creatures.Â
âWe are almost done here, aye, donât you see? Grab thy vase and let us be gone, for we arenât here to sightsee!â This harpy wasnât going down without a fight, and Etrigan wrestled her with some effort before unleashing his claws.Â
âGood riddance. Iâve never been happier seeing something get cooked like this.â Note to self - donât piss off Etrigan. Heâd recover from the burns faster than a human, but heâd burn, and he could imagine his feathers would burn really well too, magical or not. âDid someone ever tell you that youâre making Sheakspeare sound like an amateur?â
He grabbed the vase, grabbed Etriganâs collar and carried his loot out of the cave. His wings gave powerful flaps, and Carter was strong enough to carry all the weight with ease. Outside, he set the demon down and scanned the area. âSky looks clean.â
His mace was still covered in gore, so he dipped it into the river close by. Some creatures were very sensitive and usually came to the rescue of their wounded. If other harpies were smelling the remains of the dead ones, theyâd be flocked in no time.Â
Nefer, even upon hearing the door click shut, didnât feel entirely safe. The other kits would be able to smell him, fresh and unclaimed, and he would be a free-for-all until he was paired off. Not that the kit wanted anyone else other than the Princeâs whose arms he was trying to make a home in. He had no thoughts of breakfast, of washing or Khufuâs duties that day, all he could think of was those hands roaming his body the night before and what they would feel like now.
Surely they would feel incredible, better than they had done the night before? His paws slipped against Khufuâs chest, trying to somehow get closer whilst trembling the entire time. His tail was fluffed and held aloft, more proud than the rest of the kitâs body, and the contact felt good. So good in fact that he was rubbing his check along Khufuâs chest and then arching his entire form to follow suit. He was so desperate.
âW-would you,â he moaned softly, his voice nearly stolen by a hiccup. âI-I donât want.. donât want anyone else, not anyone, please, not anyone.â
so come here                 let me love your bruises.                 let me kiss all your scars.Â
tim was SURPRISED that carter was willing to do this, given how old he was. but then carter had his own morals, he didnât answer to batman or ANYONE else it seemed. needless to say, tim didnât really CARE why carter slept with him. what he cared about was EVERYTHING ELSE. the dinners, occasional gifts or just spending time with tim - that wasnât NORMAL. not for him at least.Â
part of him wanted to BELIEVE it was because carter cared, and the other darker part of him said that DIDNâT MATTER because in the end everyone screws you over. shaking himself from his thoughts he nods âmore than, though i think the staff are catching on to what we are doing.â tim teased lightly. after all HE wasnât the one whoâd get into trouble if someone found out. then again this was gotham- not many people would actually care about that kind of thing.
âwhat makes you think that?â carter wasnât the paranoid type, but he trusted his intuition more than anything else. if someone else did that, he usually paid close attention, and someone like tim who had to look out for himself when no one else did, was usually very good at having the right feelings. if the staff really wondered what was going on, it would have lead to an awkward conversation with the police, something neither of them wanted.
when they entered the elevator of the hotel, carter was glad that no one had been standing at the reception. this wasnât the kind of hotel where walking out of the room alone and returning in the company of an attractive boy wouldnât garner any raised eyebrows. he wanted to keep it low. of course by now he knew that tim was quite a screamer, so he settled with âas low as possibleâ.
he lead him to his room and opened it with the key card, then let tim enter first. it looked almost untouched, except for the unmade bed and carterâs bags on the floor. âso how much for tonight?â
