This violin would have been made for the Royal Household either late in the reign of Charles II (r. 1660-1685) or during the reign of James II (r. 1685-1688). The ornate carving on the back would have been highly fashionable at about this time, and it includes the Royal Stuart coat of arms before the royal arms were modified at the time of the accession of William III and Queen Mary in 1688. 千言萬語 beyond words (by Thunderbolt_TW)
I fell in love with books. Some people find beauty in music, some in painting, some in landscape, but I find it in words. By beauty, I mean the feeling you have suddenly glimpsed another world, or looked into a portal that reveals a kind of magic or romance out of which the world has been constructed, a feeling there is something more than the mundane, and a reason for our plodding.

I haven't even used my tumblr in over a year, probably a year and a half. So, if things seem disconnected looking at the blog, they are. I love and hate looking back at my last post. I remember exactly what I was doing and feeling at that time in my life. Not tryin to get sappy over here. Okay so I'm going to start using it again! Its nice to have a place to share things.
I had a dream last night that me and my sister went hunting for moose. We shot one even though neither of us had ever shot a gun before. We got him and he couldn't run, but he was still alive, just laying there looking at us. We really wanted to hang him on the wall. That's it.

I have become COMPLETELY obsessed with this house in Albany. I walked by it a few weeks ago in Washington Park and fell in love instantly. It is so gorgeously dreamy and fairytale-like and spooky. It is said to be home to a ghost in the tower after all. It is also FOR SALE.. for $1.2 million. If only I were a rich adult already. I want it so bad it hurts or just to be able to go inside. Screw modern houses, this is my kind of dream.
