Scooters have become a lot cooler these days than they used to be, and with offerings like this Wooden Vespa by Carlos Alberto individuals are beginning to use the 2 wheeler as a way to express their inner creativity.

Designed for his daughter Daniella, which is exactly what this beautiful scooter is called, Carlos Alberto crafted this fully functional Vespa scooter from laminated hardwood. Packed with a 50cc motor, this thing looks like it’s right out of the 60s. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen people getting creative with their Vespas either.

Fractal Generator Art by Tom Beddard

All three of these fractals were created using a fractal generator. They were inspired by German biologist Ernst Haeckel’s famous biology book Artforms of Nature. In particular, these fractals were based on Haeckel’s artwork Astrophyton darwinium.

These fractals show that mathematics and biology can make a very stunning combination!

Catastrophic Disasters Recreated as Layered Sculptures

sraeli artist Eyal Gever explores catastrophic events through his art. In his pieces known simply as Nuclear Bomb and Large Scale Smoke, he fabricates the fiery mushroom cloud that forms from an atomic explosion and the suffocating carbon and debris that billows from a volcanic eruption, respectively. Gever explains his fascination with disaster by saying, “My work captures and freezes catastrophic situations as cathartic experiences.”
