man's best friend | Sasuke
It wasn’t often Sasuke made his way to the second sector. Frankly, the place’s air made him want to gag. But the train had been held up, and the shinobi hadn’t felt like waiting to get his trip to sector one. Too bad this leg of the route was anything but scenic.
What a coincidence that the very same cry would catch his attention, though. Really, the only difference in the end was that he was still using whatever rooftops he could; the air was terrible, but it was a slightly better alternative to walking through whatever covered those grimy streets. He wasn’t about to hazard a guess as to what that might be, exactly.
Seeing the animal being beaten, his eyes narrowed. True, he knew the difference between harming a human and a beast, but there was also a difference in doing it senselessly and for a purpose. This, to his eye, was the former. What good could possibly come from such an act?
Sasuke was about to leap down, when a familiar voice cut through the air, making him freeze. His tone wasn’t loud, but there was no missing the anger behind it. Good. They were of like mind on this, then.
"I don’t know, might be fun." Sasuke chuckled, just as his feet hit the ground, some feet behind Sean. "Then again…" even as he trailed off, his tone became more serious, losing the edge of his playful note when he let the bitter sarcasm take over, "guys like this might learn a thing or two from their own games, right?"
In other words, he wasn’t going to stop him from teaching the guy a painful lesson. Not unless he decided to take that lesson a few steps too far, anyway.
Footfalls on hard pavement crunched against loose gravel and dust: The resulting noise yanked Sean's attention away from the despicable scene and onto the man garbed in camouflage. Whatever tension pulled at his shoulders and back began to dissipate upon recognition. Still, his hand didn't draw away from his pockets where he intended to remove his gloves. "You really should wear a pair of jingle bells or something. What if I blew your brains out for sneaking up on me?" He slipped the leather off of his fingertips and reveled in the sensations upon his bare hands. Gripping the wall, he peered around the corner once more and sighed.
"I knock him down, you get the dog." A smirk tugged at his lips. "Sound good?"
