He looks at the princess, the Oracle, just as filthy-torn-up dirty as he is, and back down at his hands, black and scalated with burnt-up magic.

There are glimpses and cracks like a broken mirror striating up his arm beneath the edges of the bandage, like there's still embers burning under there. The left sleeve of his Glaive uniform is nonexistent, and he can smell the melted plastic of the polyester-blended fibers-- otherwise, he'd offer her his jacket against the chill of the evening falling around the campsite, but it's not like it'd do her any good.

So, he sits. Stares at his hands, his arm, the grimdark wedding band seared around his left finger.

Staring at the damage isn't going to make it disappear any faster, though; his arm isn't going to fall off, as far as he can tell. Still, he's careful when he spreads his hands in a brief I don't know what to tell you kind of gesture.

"So do you, Your Highness," he replies.

But they can't all get what they want.

Lunafreya gave him a small smile, "Then let's make it better for ourselves."

She walked over to his side and pulled an elixir from a pocket in her tattered skirt. She broke the bottle over his arm, "Not sure this will even help with that kind of harm, I know MY healing won't, it's not Starscourge after all."

And really, dealing with Starscourge and the gods was all she could do. They were alive, they could still try to save people. She hoped Noctis and the others were alright, they they would all be able to save Eos from it's plight.

Distress Signals

Luna was distressed. She had looked everywhere for Pryna and Umbra, called out to them in every way she knew how, yet they remained apart from her. In a fit of frustration she marched her way out of Fenestala Manor and into the town. Finding a likely shop she hunted about for a cell phone.

It wasn’t fair after all that only the Oracle of all people didn’t have one. Even Ravus had one! She set up a likely plan and the shop keep helped her figure it all out, stumbling a bit as she was the Oracle after all... and he was overjoyed to meet her in person.

Finally set up, and knowledgeable in how to use the internet on it... she set about trying to find both her brother and Noctis’ numbers. She needed help finding her dogs!

Scourge Prince

She had expected as much, the man’s response was unsurprising considering how much of the scourge she could sense within him. “I’m not dying because it’s my duty, I’m not dying because I was told to. I’m willing to die to save the people of this planet from the Scourge. Are you willing to die just to kill others? Because if I know Noctis, he would try his best to save you from what they’ve put into you, instead of kill you and perhaps allowing it to spread.”

Lunafreya reached out and ruffled Pryna’s fur, then stood again and laid a hand lightly on the Prince’s head, magic surging from her fingers. He was too close to losing, and she couldn’t have that. Only a small amount, just to ease the current pain, and then she walked away.

Pryna whined after her, staying in front of the Prince. Lunafreya didn’t call for her, she knew the dog would come when she was ready, she certainly wouldn’t get killed by MTs. The dog stayed and gave the Prince comforting licks, trying to help him be less upset.

Lunafreya walked out the way she’d come in, wary of guards, but thankfully not needing Pryna’s guidance as most of the MTs were doing as the Prince had commanded. It was getting past them now patrolling the outside that she would have had trouble with, if Noctis and company hadn’t shown up.

She shook her head with a smile as Umbra joined her and guided her safely away.

Luna watched him as he spoke, and shook her head at his words. “That may be some grand scheme of the Empire’s, and you may have been created to do their bidding... but is that what YOU really want?”

She sat down in front of him, bedraggled as she currently was from dredging cross-country mostly alone, and smiled at him. “I could have left Tenebrae and been a ward of Lucis when Niflhiem attacked when I was twelve, but I knew it would be better for my country if I stayed. I was the Oracle after all, that was my saving grace, but it’s also my curse. By doing my duty and healing blight, awakening Noctis to what he’s supposed to be and do... I will die. But it’s a choice I’ve made myself, something I WANT to give my life for.”

She paused for a moment, reaching out to pet Pryna’s tail as the dog flopped over on her side at the Prince’s feet. “Do you want what they want for you? Or do you just not care enough to feel you’ve the right to a different choice? You were willing to blow whatever cover you have here to save a dog you don’t know, are you really what they think they’ve made you?”

Luna had been about to move forward when the Heir spoke, it was quiet, but still a command. And it was obeyed. Hmmm, prisoners don’t usually get obeyed.

Once the area was clear Pryna trotted back to the man and sat down in front of him, calmly waiting to be pet and told how wonderfully smart she was. Luna giggled and stepped forward finally.

“This wasn’t what I was expecting her to lead me into,” Luna said softly to him as she moved closer. “But all well. Don’t be scared, I won’t give you away. If you’ll let me, I can easy your discomfort though?”
