Transfer to 5Gorge
At 11:45am, several cargo trucks arrive at both the RED and BLU home bases of Sawmill, and on each side, one instantly lowers a driving ramp for vehicle transport, clearly prepared for automobiles of some kind to be loaded onto it.
At 11:50am, a very ordinary-looking charter bus pulls onto the Sawmill property, parking at the primary gate to the battlefield, near the BLU spawn building.
One bus.
The base loudspeakers activate at 11:55 sharp.
Good morning, RED and BLU employees. This is an announcement that all cargo must have been placed on the loading docks by this point. If you have cargo to transport that has not yet been deposited on level 3, please notify one of the truck attendants immediately.
Your personnel transport is here -- please assemble for boarding.
You are permitted one foot locker, one duffel bag and one smaller carry-on item. Additional belongings must be placed in the cargo trucks.
All pet crates will be loaded first, into the front three rows of the bus. Laboratory animals will be transported with other specimens in climate-controlled vehicles.
Ceasefire is in mandatory effect for the duration of this trip and upon arrival at 5Gorge, until otherwise notified. No firearms, incendiaries or explosives, disarmed or otherwise, are allowed inside the vehicle. Physical violence will be documented and dealt with.
There is only one bus. There are forty seats on the bus, in ten rows, with a restroom in back. There is ample legroom but the upholstery is hideous.
The driving time, barring traffic and other occurrences, is approximately 7 hours. There will be one pitstop midway.
Once again -- there is only one bus.
There is no respawn on this bus.
Please conduct yourselves accordingly.
TFI thanks you for your service at Sawmill. We have learned much from observing you here, and we look forward to exploiting your talents further at 5Gorge.
((OOC: Any further transfer day Admin posts will be coming from the 5Gorge blog! Please make sure you are following it, and 5Gorge Events, with all your team members!))
[Sawmill] BATTLE WRAP-UP - JULY 11
Round 1 Victory: BLU (MVPs: Grigori Tomlin | Erika Brona) Notes: Power still seemed to dominate the battle, even without the use of primary weapons, and BLU took the first point at 50 minutes exactly.
Round 2 Victory: RED (MVPs: Abigail Fisher | Paul Cooper) Notes: Some strategies developed after the first round, with RED making a full push to take control of the round and ultimately captured the point in 48 minutes.
Round 3 Victory: BLU (MVPs: Philippe Renard | Ragomir Egresky) Notes: Both teams brutalized each other unlike anything previously seen, once again almost forgetting the point itself, but it was BLU who took the round and the battle in triple overtime at 69 minutes.
WINNER: BLU
Your final battle at Sawmill is acceptable. The Administration hopes you will continue your efforts at your future bases.
[OOC: All victories/MVPs for this battle are the result of random number rolls; no other criteria have been taken into consideration. You may start or continue to play pre-, during, and post-battle plots as long as you like.]
[Sawmill] BATTLE BULLETIN - JULY 11
RED and BLU Team members -- by this time next week, you will be preparing to flounder and die embarrassingly, running in circles like dumb animals on a new and unfamiliar battleground. With this in mind, tomorrow will be your last battle at Sawmill. This will be your final opportunity to demonstrate the skill, strategy, and lust for carnage you have gained from this humble field of combat. You are being observed. You are being recorded. You must prove that your Employers' confidence has not been wasted. You would not want to be left behind at a gas station on the way to your new assignments, would you.
BATTLE OUTLOOK: July 11
Battle Type: King of the Hill
Rounds: 3
Team Lineup: All-in (Current Sawmill Roster)
Start Time: 6pm
Weather Forecast: Partly-cloudy and warm, high 88
Terrain: Stable
Respawn Conditions: Normal
Alerts: In order that you may have adequate time this week to strip and pack your valuable Primary weapons for travel, Secondary and Melee weapons ONLY are permitted in this mission. For this purpose, sentries will be considered the primary weapon of Engineers and as such not permitted, so they may use their primary firearms. Spies must only use the standard cloaking devices.
Assessment: Due to the increased use of scattershot, explosive, and blunt-force weapons, this battle has the potential to be one of the ugliest yet. Additionally, you may encounter familiar opponents employing unfamiliar strategies and positions. Do not be disoriented. Keep moving and keep your wits about you.
[Sawmill] Sunday Bulletin #22
Good afternoon, BLU and RED teams. This is your Sunday bulletin for the week of July 8th.
PERSONNEL BLU: Antoine Fournier, Sniper, has officially been assigned to your team and will be participating in this week's battle. Please welcome him. RED: Jonah Rogers, Sniper, is still deployed on classified assignment.
SUPPLIES A flatbed of empty supply crates will arrive this week. There will be no additional supplies delivered -- please do your best to use up your existing stock.
ANNOUNCEMENTS Due to escalating instabilities with the on-base Respawn system and noise complaints from the local mountain folk, all BLU and RED personnel currently stationed at Sawmill are on transfer notice, effective immediately; transportation for you and your belongings to 5Gorge base will arrive at approximately 12 noon on Sunday, July 15. Please have all items crated and on the shipping dock behind Level 3 of your respective bases at that time.
Your final battle at Sawmill will take place this Wednesday, July 11. Remember: this impending transfer will not excuse any lapses in performance. You are still being monitored. Heavily.
Please remember that each team is responsible for monitoring its own comm room for bulletins, updates and announcements. The employers cannot be held responsible for missed information.
Sawmill is not recruiting new team members at this time. [If you are interested in joining the group at 5Gorge, please send an ask to the 5Gorge blog for more information]

[Sawmill] BATTLE WRAP-UP - JULY 4
Part 1: The Pie/Water Balloon Fight (MVPs: N/A) Notes: The Administration was astonished that both teams seemed to actually form strategies for a battle such as this, and for that, you are all to be commended. Additionally, the battle lasted four entire hours, showing the Administration that you indeed have the stamina to fight longer and harder than you do some weeks. As usual, RED showed more ferocity, but BLU stayed cleaner longer. In the end, no clear winner could be chosen, so this fight ended in a stalemate.
Part 2: The Fireworks (MVPs: N/A) Notes: Rain decided to rear its ugly head in the evening to put a damper on everyone's spirits and severely effected both teams' abilities to perform above and beyond the call of duty. However, RED had an enthusiasm BLU could not quite match, so the Administration has no choice but to declare them the winner of the day.
WINNER: RED
We hope you enjoyed this little reprieve. Do not expect it often.
As a reminder, the Sawmill battlefield is accessible to both teams for training purposes until further notice. Team spawn buildings are, as always, off limits to opposing team members. The field is under camera surveillance, and all base regulations apply.
[OOC: All victories/MVPs for this battle are the result of random number rolls; no other criteria have been taken into consideration. You may start or continue to play pre-, during, and post-battle plots as long as you like.]
[Sawmill] BATTLE BULLETIN - JULY 4
RED and BLU -- This week's battle is scheduled for what is considered a 'special' day by Americans. Therefore, the Administration has determined that this week requires a special battle.
BATTLE OUTLOOK: July 4
Battle Type: SPECIAL
Rounds: 2
Team Lineup: All-in (Current Sawmill Roster)
Start Time: Noon; 10pm
Weather Forecast: Mainly sunny, high of 86; unexpected front will be moving in late in the day with a 90% chance of rain in the evening
Terrain: Dry and firm; may change with rain
Respawn Conditions: Normal
Alerts: This week's battle will be unlike any other battle you have experienced previously. See the 'Instructions' section below.
Strategy Notes: N/A
Instructions: The battle this week will be in two parts. Please open the large crate marked DANGER that was delivered with this week's supplies. Contained within it are the items to be used in the battle.
Part 1: Your conventional weapons are not to be used. Instead, they will be replaced with cream pies and water balloons. Engineers will find special blueprints on an alternative dispenser to input into their PDAs inside the crate and should set up their dispensers prior to battle. Uniforms are not recommended for this battle, and 'friendly-fire' is encouraged. You may continue this portion of the battle for as long as you wish.
Part 2: Fireworks and materials to create additional fireworks make up the rest of the crate. Both teams should construct their own displays and be prepared to launch them at precisely 10pm, regardless of the weather.
The Administration will be monitoring both portions of the battle to determine a winner. Participation is key.
Assessment: Enjoy your holiday. You are still being evaluated.
[Sawmill] Sunday Bulletin #21
Good evening, BLU and RED teams. This is your Sunday bulletin for the week of July 1st.
PERSONNEL Jonah Rogers, RED Sniper, is currently deployed on classified assignment; there are no further changes at this time.
SUPPLIES This week's supply shipment will contain sufficient provisions for the next two weeks, so long as nobody is wasteful; each team will also be receiving an additional large crate marked DANGER -- do not open this container until you receive further orders.
ANNOUNCEMENTS This Wednesday is Independence Day -- it is also a work day.
Please remember that each team is responsible for monitoring its own comm room for bulletins, updates and announcements. The employers cannot be held responsible for missed information.
Sawmill is not recruiting new team members at this time. [If you are interested in joining Sawmill, please send an ask to the Sawmill blog for more information]
SEVEN-DAY WEATHER FORECAST Monday - Sunny; high 87 Tuesday - Sunny; high 83 Wednesday - Sunny; high 86 Thursday - Sunny; high 85 Friday - Sunny; high 87 Saturday - Sunny; high 90 Sunday - Sunny; high 88

[Sawmill] BATTLE WRAP-UP - JUNE 27
Round 1 Victory: RED (MVPs: Arthur Jennings | Ben Clark) Notes: Both teams seemed at a loss by having to rely strictly on dispensers in the first round, and both fumbled more than scored. In the end, however, RED was able to find their strategy and take the point at 53 minutes.
Round 2 Victory: BLU (MVPs: Leo Orsini | Betty-Jane Jackson) Notes: Less disoriented, the teams seemed to double their efforts to stick with strategy, resulting in a reliance upon offensive maneuvers to turn the tide. BLU managed to take advantage of this best to capture the point 49 minutes in.
Round 3 Victory: BLU (MVPs: Dell Conagher | Marcus Rittenmeier) Notes: Having learned from previous rounds, each went with what worked: fortifying defenses and taking advantage of each teammember's expertise. It was a gory battle of constant respawning, but BLU brought home the victory in overtime at 61 minutes.
WINNER: BLU
Curve balls are not only a baseball term, they are a fact of life. You should all get used to it.
[Sawmill] BATTLE BULLETIN - JUNE 27
RED and BLU -- you set record times for point capture last week. The Administration is beginning to wonder if you need more work to do.
BATTLE OUTLOOK: June 27
Battle Type: King of the Hill
Rounds: 3 (no best-of)
Team Lineup: All-in (Current Sawmill Roster)
Start Time: Noon
Weather Forecast: Mainly sunny, high of 82; winds light and variable
Terrain: Dry and firm
Respawn Conditions: Normal
Alerts: There will be no ammunition or health packs on the field this week, and resupply cabinets will be locked. You may only reload upon respawning, or via Dispenser.
Strategy Notes: Standard; Community Sawmill (King of the Hill) Strategy
Assessment: Mercenaries who have gotten used to having amenities at arm's reach on an intimately-sized field such as Sawmill will now have to stretch their limits and ration themselves. Fortunately, Respawn conditions are normal, otherwise this would be a very long day indeed.
((OOC Notes:
The ‘start time’ listed above is for character knowledge/battle specs only; you don’t need to be online and RPing at that exact time, or even wait to begin at that time: just participate when you can.
You may RP using custom or upgraded loadouts, but health/crit benefits for individual players’ weapons will not be counted in the random score rolls at this time. As a courtesy to all players and characters, please keep in mind the weapons and fighting style of your character’s chosen class.
Feel free to RP as much active battle as you like, but please do not state any team winners until the battle wrap-up is posted tomorrow evening -- at which point any pre, during or post-battle plots may be freely played.

[Sawmill] BATTLE WRAP-UP - JUNE 20
Round 1 Victory: RED (MVPs: Buck Ashmore | Jonah Rogers) Notes: As usual, RED rushed into the battle with a fury, getting their heavy-hitters out front early on and taking command of the battlefield, then the point, by the 38-minute mark.
Round 2 Victory: BLU (MVPs: Lenny MacDougal | Ragomir Egresky) Notes: After their rough first round, BLU took the battlefield by storm, with explosives putting a severe damper on RED efforts to gain ground, resulting in a routing capture at only 24 minutes.
Round 3 Victory: RED (MVPs: Sophea Egresky | George Clayton) Notes: The early establishment of a highly-organized sentry effort, RED decimated BLU and captured the control point in a very impressive and record-breaking 9 minutes.
WINNER: RED
The Administration is astonished by your efficiency this week. One might almost imagine you wanted to get these missions with over as quickly as possible. Duly noted.
[Sawmill] BATTLE BULLETIN - JUNE 20
RED and BLU -- your mission is as follows. You are being closely observed this week, so do not disappoint your Administration.
BATTLE OUTLOOK: June 20
Battle Type: King of the Hill
Rounds: 3 (no best-of)
Team Lineup: All-in (Current Sawmill Roster)
Start Time: 8pm
Weather Forecast: High of 90 degrees by 3pm, cooling after dark to approximately 60 degrees by midnight
Terrain: Dry and dusty
Respawn Conditions: Delayed
Alerts: Dusk and darkness may make footing more treacherous and limit sightlines and depth perception. Please prepare accordingly. Respawn signal delays are being registered due to the heat and humidity, so please watch for Respawn delays up to and including three minutes.
Strategy Notes: Standard; Community Sawmill (King of the Hill) Strategy
Assessment: Due to the persistent heat, we have elected to allow RED and BLU to battle in the cool of the evening. Incidentally, the cool of the evening will be approximately 75 degrees at 8pm, so make sure to dress for temperature. Both teams should be extra wary of spies, scouts, and any other foot-bound class that does not give their presence away via fire, lasers or explosives.
((OOC Notes:
The ‘start time’ listed above is for character knowledge/battle specs only; you don’t need to be online and RPing at that exact time, or even wait to begin at that time: just participate when you can.

[Sawmill] Sunday Bulletin #19
Good afternoon, BLU and RED teams. This is your Sunday bulletin for the week of June 17th.
PERSONNEL Please be advised that Ethel Scott, Soldier, has been added to the RED Team roster and will arrive this week.
SUPPLIES There will be no beer included in this week's shipment, due to some unpleasantness involving skunks in the bottling facility. Please conserve your current supplies as best as possible. As a substitute, four liters of tequila and a case of limes will be included in each base's shipment.
ANNOUNCEMENTS Please take caution when entering the woods, as bears have been sighted near the property. Do not attempt to feed them or engage them in conversation, even if they are adorable.
Please remember that each team is responsible for monitoring its own comm room for bulletins, updates and announcements. The employers cannot be held responsible for missed information.
[Sawmill is currently accepting every class besides Engineers! If you are interested in joining or know someone who is, please see this post for more information.]
SEVEN-DAY WEATHER FORECAST Monday - Sunny; high 79 Tuesday - Sunny; high 81 Wednesday - Sunny; high 90 Thursday - Sunny; high 89 Friday - Mostly sunny; high 76 Saturday - Sunny; high 77 Sunday - Sunny; high 76
+ + + + +
[Sawmill] BATTLE WRAP-UP - JUNE 13
Round 1 Victory: BLU (MVPs: Dell Conagher | Erika Brona) Notes: Well-placed sentries owned the day by and large, and in round 1 BLU's buildings maintained a longer lifespan. Sapping and rebuild, combined with an energetic on-foot offense helped BLU to whittle down RED's stamina and capture the control point in 42 minutes.
Round 2 Victory: RED (MVPs: Abigail Fisher | Paul Cooper) Notes: Learning their lessons, RED Engineers established early and well this round, building under Pyro and Sniper protection and keeping close the center shed to protect from explosive offense. In a valiant push, RED took the point in 30 minutes
Round 3 Victory: BLU (MVPs: Grigori Tomlin | Pipsqueak) Notes: Used to a more crowded field, the small but evenly-matched teams dueled for the better part of the hour until the Heavy and Medic team established a well-defended spot near the point. With key team members having regained energy after the second round, BLU crowded onto the point for a victory at the 50 minute mark.
WINNER: BLU
The Administration has taken note of effort made by both teams to pick up slack and offer needed cooperation. Both RED and BLU are duly commended, and cautioned that the performance bar has most certainly been raised.
[Sawmill] BATTLE BULLETIN - JUNE 13
Good afternoon, BLU and RED teams. We hope that the recent increases in elbow room and solo training time has gotten you lean and ready for this week's mission.
BATTLE OUTLOOK: June 13th
Battle Type: King of the Hill
Rounds: 3 (no best-of)
Team Lineup: All-in (Current Sawmill Roster)
Start Time: 11am
Weather Forecast: Sunny and humid, high 85 degrees
Terrain: Dry and firm
Respawn Conditions: Normal
Alerts: None at present
Strategy Notes: Standard; Community Sawmill (King of the Hill) Strategy
Assessment: Gaps in roster-based strategy will force RED and BLU to make choices: either make use of the allotted time and pace with fewer numbers, or adopt radical changes in offense for the element of surprise.
