Namely, the masquerade part that Eden’s going to be hosting. I’m not sure yet if Oinos will be getting in on the festivities or not but either way masks are going to be required, themed drinks on sale, and mischief encouraged. If any of you can forget Halloween night come November 1st then I’m doing something very, very wrong.

PM: Then you can consider this my apology for assuming - I’m pretty much used to anything involving breakfast being of a more carnal nature. It’s not impossible, since clients want things I can still give, but I’m trying to break away from that. Tonight works, I get off about 3 a.m.

It’s not, but when you serve hundreds of customers a night and you have quite a few regulars, I suppose I could understand if someone couldn’t. Did you meet Rose? Strawberry blonde hair she clearly still dyes, has to be in her fifties but looks thirty, married to a former senator?

Hmm...I’ve seen her and talked to her a bit, I think, but I’m not sure I’ve heard too much about her.  Any other interesting ones you can think of?

Where would you want to go? I would take off now if I wasn’t already taking almost a solid month off (not all at once) during the holiday season. Going somewhere a little warmer sounds like heaven.

A European cruise would be nice, or Alaskan.  Everyone takes Caribbean cruises, so this would be different.  Though I guess those aren’t warmer.

PM: It only excludes what the kinkiest of folks would consider straight-up sex. Sexual acts are totally acceptable, and generally a lot safer considering. I didn’t want to separate work from personal and this has been helping a lot, on top of mostly quitting the side job. Then count me in. We can have a miniature feast.

You’ll get automatic kudos in my book for being able to remember. Been ordering the same thing for at least three years and there are still a few who can’t remember. Hah! What a classy way of saying “some of these customers are downright batshit crazy”. My favorites are the much older folks that show up more during the day.

Really?  It’s not like it’s a difficult drink to remember, so you can count on me.  Hah yeah, that’s probably the more truthful way to describe them.  Yeah, they’re always nice to talk to.  They have a lot of stories.

PM: That should be something people accept - that I’m just always, always smart. That sounds like an amazing idea but I’m not… I’ve kind of got a personal ban going on on ‘doing the do’, but if you’re alright with that I’d love to crash over. Especially if you make pancakes on top of that French toast. Dream food when sleeping in is allowed.

Most people don’t find that balance but the lucky few seem to exude peace. I’m going to need to come out of the office and check you out on the job! Just a hint: Whiskey on the rocks is my go-to drink. Honestly that’s the one thing you miss most when you leave the bar. The conversations tend to stick, or at least the most hilarious ones.

Whiskey on the rocks, got it, that’s easy enough.  The next time you come out of your cave, I’ll make one for you without you even having to ask.  You can see me in action.  Yeah, there are a lot of...interesting people who come into Eden.

You know I’d ask, but I’m pretty certain I already know. I rarely do the “staying for breakfast” bit on either end but it’s got to be a total feast when I do. Growing boy with an appetite like a teenager when I remember to eat, so I learned most of the basics myself. You want lessons, maybe?

PM:  Haha, you’re right, I’m sure about that.  You should stay over sometime and let me cook breakfast for you.  I’ve got some pretty good skills in the kitchen (again, only when it comes to breakfast food).  I make fantastic French toast.  Hmm...that couldn’t hurt.  It would probably be a good thing.

Admittedly that was my motto for years, until I was told to lighten up some. Learning to let go of the reigns was more of a challenge than most things have been, but I’m getting there. Speaking of - how’s the bar been treating you?

I guess it’s about balance and knowing when to ask for help.  It’s been great, actually.  I’ve become a real pro at the making of the drinks, I think, and I like the conversations.
