How To Use A Dollar Bill As A Clarinet Ligature.

Okay, I know you might not come across the situation where you need to use this, it may be something you just do for fun.

When I was a freshman, I was preparing my clarinet for the competition the next day (I’m weird, I always shine my instrument before concerts or comps) and I forgot to put my ligature back in my case… O_O

So I got to school that saturday and didn’t have a ligature. So, I improvised. I pulled out a dollar bill and set to constructing a ligature, and everyone said it wouldn’t work.. but guess what? I marched that entire competition with a dollar bill for a ligature and it worked very well. 

It’s also very good for learning to tune with your mouth if you have trouble doing that.
