A few days ago in band, we were tuning, and my band director asked somebody to play a D (as in the note). They obviously weren’t listening, because they played a completely wrong note, and my director said, “No, no, play a D.” Then, the second chair trombonist literally shouted “HE WANTS THE D.” My director’s face was pretty much this:
