@saxlady
this is incredible
i'm working on a full gifset of the trailer rn but i just needed to highlight this shot for a second.
i'm a violinist, so i can't come from a cellist's perspective, but i can come from a string instrument perspective.
this is probably the best faking of a string instrument i've ever seen? maybe my view is skewed because i love him and his acting, but when i heard about him playing a cellist, i planned on going into this with a more critical eye than a lot of others probably did.
the bow hold is REALLY good. he's actually using his wrist instead of his shoulder. he's got great back posture (!!), and his left hand is doing REALLY well. the little bit of vibrato with his pinky at the end is insane
and the fact that his bow strokes are matching up with the notes he looks to be playing?? he's on the right strings at the right time??
this is going to be my entire personality until december jfc
great work, bb
Remember this.

During a recent televised debate, Rep. Jasmine Crockett took Mike Huckabee down over his interpretation of Christian morality.
Jasmine Crockett:
âGovernor Huckabee, what does Jesus say in Matthew 25 about how weâll be judged?â
Mike Huckabee:
He hesitated, mumbling something about sheep and goats.
Crockett: âThatâs right. The final judgment. Would you like me to quote it?â
Before Huckabee could respond, she read directly from her phone:
âI was hungry and you gave me food.
I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink.
I was a stranger and you welcomed me.
I was sick and you looked after me.
I was in prison and you came to visit me.â
Crockett continued:
âJesus doesnât mention abortion.
He doesnât mention same-sex marriage.
He doesnât bring up tax rates or culture war issues.
The only criteria Jesus gives for heaven or hell are how we treat the poor, the sick, the immigrant, the prisoner.â
She looked Huckabee in the eye:
âSo, Governor, if you oppose every single one of those policies, what does that say about your understanding of Christian morality?â
Huckabee tried to respond, but Crockett pressed on:
Matthew 19:21 â âSell all your possessions and give to the poor.â
Luke 4:18 â âProclaim good news to the poor, freedom for the prisoners.â
Matthew 8 â Jesus heals a man with leprosy, touching someone society called unclean.
âYou say Iâm not a real Christian because I support feeding programs for kids, universal health care, and immigration reform. But Jesus said those are the exact things that determine salvation.â
Then came the knockout:
âJesus never said, âI was a wealthy corporation and you gave me tax breaks.â
He never said, âI was a gun manufacturer and you protected my profits.â
He never said, âI was a pharmaceutical company and you let me charge whatever I wanted.ââ
Crockett concluded: âYour version of faith asks whether someone deserves help before offering it. But Jesus never said, âI was hungry and you checked if I had a job first.ââ
She quoted Isaiah 58, Proverbs 31, and Micah 6:8, then addressed Huckabeeâs final attempt to challenge her.
Huckabee: âBut you still support abortion and same-sex marriage. Youâre picking and choosing.â
Crockett: âThe word abortion appears zero times in the Bible. Same-sex marriage, also zero. But caring for the poor? Dozens of times. Welcoming immigrants? Direct commands. Healing the sick? Over and over again. So if someoneâs cherry-picking, Governor, it isnât me.â
She closed with this: âYouâve spent your whole career telling Christians they have to choose between their politics and their faith. But maybe the real question is this: How can someone claim to follow Jesus while opposing everything Jesus said?â
Another Jazz Legend gone... 𼲠RIP Chuck Mangione it must be some good music heaven up there
Seeing as how the Big Beautiful Bill just passed, here's are some websites that offer discounts on medications:
- GoodRx
- SingleCare
- Pharmacy Checker
- WellRx - this one compares prices across different pharmacies
- Cost Plus - thanks to @thedamnqueenofhell for suggesting!
Stay safe, everyone. Things are about to get much, much worse in the US.
EDIT: if you're worried about doctor/therapy appointments, see if there's a sliding scale clinic near you (and ask your therapist if they offer sliding scale prices)
When the American empire finally collapses, historians wonât be stunned by the greed of the elite; Theyâll be stunned by the loyalty of the poor.
The working class didnât just vote against their own interests. They worshipped the billionaires robbing them.
They slashed their own benefits, gutted their own healthcare, and cheered while the rich wrote off private jets as tax deductions.
Not because it helped them.
But because they were told it would hurt someone else.
And that, right there, is how you rig a democracy without ever breaking a single law.
Dylan Thomas
âI told you once that I was searching for the nature of evil. I think Iâve come close to defining it: a lack of empathy. Itâs the one characteristic that connects all the defendants. A genuine incapacity to feel with their fellow man. Evil, I think, is the absence of empathy.â - G.M. Gilbert
