I was raised on the strict principle that the driver only drives. Shotgun seat is a duty, not a privilege. Second seat is the first passenger, the second in command. Shotgun does everything that the driver needs done. Driver wants water, shotgun hands them the water bottle, already opened, and closes it after the driver has had their drink. Shotgun manages the navigator, googles things that popped into the driver's head and wants to look up real quick. Reads the driver's incoming texts and texts back as the driver dictates - upon the driver's request. Driver only drivers. If your ass itches you don't take your hands off the fucking wheel, the secondant scratches it for you.

Then you sit down in the car of someone who's an excellent never-had-a-crash driver and watch in horror as they go 80 kmh on a curving forest road, opening a water bottle one-handed while applying lip balm with the other, changing music by pecking their phone's touch screen with the tip of their nose like a bird, all the while steering with their left ass cheek, and you feel your soul leave your body just in case your body is also gonna leave the car after it, through the windshield, in the near foreseeable future.

I feel like alot of people, when talking about the story or the metaphors, look over petscop 22 so much. I personally feel like the entirety of 22 goes to show the paul is literally care theory- & ive always interperated the conversation between the counselor & the player as a conversation that care/paul had after escaping Marvin's school, & assumingly being adopted by lina. I really, really hate when people try to pull the "converging timelines" or twin theory with this game, like there is so much going to say that they are the same person at one point or another. That is not to say that there isnt any sort of time manipulation in the game, there obviously is thats a huge point, but i feel like a huge part of the story is change, & when people deny it & pull those random theories out of their ass it does such a dishonor to the entire thing. Also, just look at the color references?? Yellow & red are so important in the series & i love how in petscop 22 the file name is in orange, it feels like, atleats at that point in the story, paul & care became one, & then having the name turn red. That wording makes no sense my bad, one day ill go in further to my interpretation of the story/metaphors as a whole, but i wanted to post this since someone uploaded a new analysis on yt
