I decided to do this again for Tavrin because I just felt like it. lol
Name: Tavrin
She has no surname, though later after marriage, she takes Gale's name and becomes Tavrin Dekarios.
Alias:
In Menzoberranzan when she was a nameless serial killer of no known heritage, the denizens referred to her as L'Renor (meaning "the Black" in drowic), since the one defining thing people knew about her was her black hair. A very rare feature among drow.
Later when she joins the temple of Bhaal in Baldur's Gate, her name shifts to Tavrin the Black. This is where Orin got her inspiration for the title "Orin the Red", partly as a mockery after their falling out.
Class & Background: Rogue - Mastermind ; Haunted One, Criminal
Gender & Pronouns: Female (She/Her/Hers)
Race: Drow*
Though in truth, she is not a true drow. She's an imperfect imitation forged out of Bhaal's dead flesh in an unholy ritual. As a result, her ability to trance, resist charms, or see in the dark is not as strong as a true drow.
Sexuality: Pansexual ; Demiromantic
Family:
Blood relatives include Bhaal (father) ; Orin (sister/niece/??) ; Sarevok (brother/uncle/??)
Her only other relative comes later after marriage, which is Morena Dekarios (mother-in-law)
Friends: Gale Dekarios, Minthara Baenre, Astarion Ancunin, Lae'zel, Clodagh Ironspire, Riven Windweaver
Rivals: Enver Gortash, Araj Oblodra, Murdock Anteos
Wyll Ravengard and Shadowheart are rivals with her during a lot of the canon journey, but they do overcome this to become friends.
Birthplace: Menzoberranzan
Job:
Let's see in order she goes from Serial Killer > Assassin for House Barrison Del'Armgo > High Primistress of Bhaal's Temple > "Unemployed Adventurer"
Later on in Anam Red part two, she picks up Perfumery and Poisoncrafting. And will combine the two as part of her venture.
Phobias/Fears: Restoration of her memories, being unable to control her faculties
Hobbies: Card games, swimming, sparring, sex, dancing (later in Waterdeep, particularly aerial dancing)
Alignment: Neutral Evil > Chaotic Neutral
Before she was lobotomized, Tavrin was severely self-serving. She would eradicate or exploit pretty much anybody in her way, and was well on her way to doing that with the Absolute plot. So very much Evil. The exception was Gortash, but this was not out of kindness so much out of selfishness. He belonged to her, and he was the only person she truly trusted.
Rules didn't matter to her. Bhaal tried to impose them on her, but she would reject any (or try to) that didn't serve her. It was much the same with Gortash's rules. She followed only those that served her own whims or purpose. So Neutral in that regard.
After her lobotomy she shifts because of her influences and experiences. However, the shift is less of a change in personality and more a change in where she directs her more unsavory actions. She does not care for the greater good, she doesn't go out of her way to help people unless it's a very exceptional situation that resonates with her or it's one of her close companions. So while this makes her less evil than before, she's still not good either. So Neutral on that plane now.
Rules, however, have become something she abhors. She ignores them entirely. They don't apply to her. She doesn't respect them. She does what she feels she needs to do, or what she wants to do. And she'll handle the consequences in a way that also involves ignoring said rules. She respects the boundaries of individuals she respects, but that's about it. So therefore she has become Chaotic.
Flaws: HO BOY.
She's a liar, she relies on deception in many scenarios. It doesn't have to be a last resort, it's often her first resort. Tavrin also has a tendency to be cruel, even after her redemption. Though later she reserves it for those who piss her off, she doesn't exactly keep it reigned in for everyone. She may no longer seek world domination or destruction, but she's still incredibly self-serving and self indulgent. She's hedonistic, unapologetic, possessive, and gets a kick out of intimidating people. Also she's always been a thief, and continues to be a thief, even when she has plenty of money to pay for things. On top of all this, she's arrogant as hell, and frankly...has pretty poor judgement that leads her to make terrible decisions.
Virtues: So, to balance all that...
She's pragmatic in a way that does temper a lot of her flaws. Yes, she's arrogant, she's a liar, she's cruel, but she's less likely to bring out these flaws unless doing so works to her advantage. They serve a purpose to her goals or strategies rather than just being for the love of the game. What she lacks in education she makes up for in cunning and competence. While she comes to decisions quickly (sometimes too quickly), she is easy to reason with and will hear out arguments of logic, even if they contradict her decisions.
Though her loyalty is hard won, once you have it, it is unwavering. Though she tends to be possessive in love, she does not tend to be jealous or distrusting with it. Though she is good at hiding her emotions, she feels deeply and is not as callous as she leads people to believe.
If she loves, it is with great intensity. If she protects, it is to the brutal death. If she supports, it is with brutal honesty no matter how hard it is to hear. Though these virtues rarely come to the surface with her, if you're one of the few who have unlocked that level of bond, you get them. When it comes to Tavrin's good side, you get nothing...Or you get it all.
