«L'istruzione è gravemente in crisi. Gli studenti spesso non vogliono imparare e gli insegnanti non vogliono insegnare. Più che mai nella storia recente di questa nazione, chi lavora nel campo dell'educazione deve confrontarsi con i pregiudizi che hanno modellato nel tempo le pratiche di insegnamento nella nostra società, e riuscire a creare nuovi modi di conoscere, strategie differenti per la condivisione della conoscenza. Non possiamo superare questa crisi se anche le pensatrici e i pensatori progressisti, così come chi si dedica alla critica sociale, mostrano di considerare l'insegnamento una materia indegna di considerazione. L'aula rimane lo spazio di possibilità più radicale dell'accademia. Per anni è stato un luogo in cui l'educazione è stata compromessa da insegnanti e studenti, che l'hanno usata come palcoscenico delle proprie preoccupazioni opportunistiche, piuttosto che come luogo di apprendimento. Con questi saggi, la mia voce si unisce alla richiesta collettiva di rinnovamento e svecchiamento delle nostre pratiche di insegnamento, esortando tutte e tutti noi ad aprire le nostre menti e i nostri cuori, in modo da sviluppare una conoscenza che vada al di là dei confini di ciò che è considerato accettabile. Celebro l'insegnamento che rende possibili le trasgressioni – un movimento contro e oltre i confini – per poter pensare, ripensare e creare nuove visioni. • I’ve often see a lot of european classic books been recommended here, but all cultures and contries have their own classics, including Brazil. We often need to read than in school (and usually that make most part of us hate classics), but I’ve read some of them after graduating school and I’ve liked a lot of them! So there’s a list for brazilian fellas and foreign friends who may be interested in brazilian culture and literature!

• Eu costumo ver muitos livros clássicos europeus sendo recomendados aqui, mas todas as culturas e paises tem seus clássicos, inclusive o Brasil. Nós comumente temos que ler eles na escola (e geralmente isso faz a maioria de nós odiar clássicos), mas eu li alguns deles depois de me graduar na escola e gostei de muitos!
