It is absolutely absurd to me that FIFA allowed America to keep hosting the World Cup, when they are actively at war with a participating nation. There was literally no way that wasn't going to impact the competition for Iran. And now it turns out that yeah, it did. Because the fucking coaches weren't allowed in. To say nothing of how every non-white country is disadvantaged by all the Visa bullshit. I get that FIFA doesn't want to be political, but that means they have to step in when the hosts are being straight up political in a way that makes the whole competition corrupted

Meanwhile, side note:

I haven't had time to verify this yet but I heard America's tourism is down 14% from this time last year

Y'all are acting like FIFA didn't actively want this and caused this.

The "only English" incident was 100% FIFA. In large swaths of the US Spanish is used more than English and they could have walked one block off of the stadium and found someone fluent in Spanish and English who could have handled translation. FIFA runs those press conferences, not the host. The US provides translators for sportsball players in the press room on the daily, Spanish, Korean, and Japanese just for baseball. Our sports channels offer Spanish language simulcast for damn near everything. FIFA made that choice, FIFA didn't provide translators.

Infantino *made up an award* to give Trump. FIFA not only fully bought into everything, they wanted it so bad they "paid" for the extra BS.

Like yes, the US government is a shitpile and racist as fuck, but don't ignore that that is exactly what FIFA wants from it. Y'all conveniently forget that Qatar literally killed hundreds building stadiums just to hold the World Cup and FIFA made excuses every time the toll in literal human lives was brought up. FIFA is choosing cruel hosts *on purpose*.
