Top: LA Galbi Bottom: Pork Belly
Gogi 6240 N California Ave Chicago, IL 773-274-6669
Sayrah Rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
By leaps and bounds the best Korean BBQ I have ever had. The quality of the meats here are incomparable. I mean I have had LA Galbi and pork belly but not like this. The galbi was sweet, charred, and the meat was oh so tender. If you love pork belly you have to try it here as well because you haven’t had it like this. Its all in the quality and you will know what I mean when you go. The meat tastes clean, like its never been frozen or processed before. Also, if you leave some of the pork belly in the cooking pan they come around and make you kimchi fried rice with your leftovers (complimentary) …. YUM
The place is small and popular so I would suggest you make a reservation if you wanna go. #foodblogger #foodporn #porkbelly #samgyupsal #lagalbi #beef #kbbq #koreanfood
Honey Dessert of Chicago 2229 S Wentworth Ave Chicago, IL 60616 Sayrah Rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you love mango this is a great place for you to try. They have huge range of fruit desserts and drinks and I noticed that so many things had mango incorporated. Believe me I am NOT complaining. I loved it. I had something called a Mango "soup" with taro and rice cakes. Delicious all around I loved the texture of the rice cakes with the chunks of mango in the sweet syrup soup. The mango ice cream itself was really delicious and tasted homemade.
Hing Kee Restaurant 2140 S Archer Ave Chicago, IL 60616 Sayrah Rating ⭐⭐⭐ This trip was filled with a lot of firsts for me as far as Asian food goes. To start I had my first experience with soup dumplings! These little dumplings come out in a bamboo steamer and let me tell you they will burn the hell out of your mouth if you aren't careful. They don't just have soup in them like the name implies. There is a small bit of meat as well but the soup is where it's at. This restaurant has and extensive menu, and when I say extensive I mean you can get many kinds of dumplings, sushi, traditional Chinese dishes, and a range of drinks as well like bubble teas.
EAT New Orleans 900 Dumaine Street New Orleans, Louisiana 70116 504 522 7222 Left: Lox and Bagel Right: Chicken Fried Chicken and Fried Green Tomatoes Sayrah Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ This Cajun-Southern restaurant is in the French Quarter and was suggested to us by a friend who had an amazing meal here and boy did they not disappoint. The food here is farm-to-table and is at a price point anyone can afford. You can BYOB at this place too which saves you a bit if you plan to drink. One thing to remember when going here, talk to your waiter. They can direct you to what will be best for you on the menu based on what you are feeling. The Chicken Fried Chicken is amazing so filling and hearty and if you're in the mood for some smoked salmon, cream cheese, and a bagel the Lox and Bagel is the way to go (comes with a good bit of fruit too).
Pho Lee 756 E Glenn Ave Auburn, AL 36830 334-209-2979 Rare Steak Pho with garnishes Sayrah Rating ⭐⭐⭐ The Pho here is just average. Not incredibly flavorful as I have had at other places, definitely not a bad taste at all. Just .... bland. The broth in Pho is supposed to be light but still have a strong taste of onions, ginger, and beef but I find the broth itself here to be a bit lacking in the smokey flavor it should possess. This place is always busy, and I am happy for them but that is really because there is a lack of competition in this area when it comes to Vietnamese food. Honestly, its a bit pricey as well. $9.25 for a small bowl of Pho, when you can go to almost anywhere in Mobile and get a large bowl for that price. All in all it satisfies my cravings for Pho when I have it but is nothing special overall. I will try one of their bahn mis next time and see if it impresses me more than the soup.

Only a dinner review. Will do a separate one for their brunch.
Left: Pork Rinds and House Salad Right: Bison Burger and Fries
Best place for a good drink and good food in Auburn by far. The bar menu itself is great, they have a wide array of different liquors and bourbons that will make anyone happy and their beer selection is one of the best around here too. If you are feeling like trying something new try The Cecil -Jameson Irish Whiskey, Amaretto, Fresh Lemon & Lime, Simple Syrup & Egg White. That’s right, EGG WHITE. Its sooooo good. You’ll thank me later.
I love the food here, they never ever disappoint. I love the burgers here but all of entrees are good. They offer a wide range of foods here, from pasta, to burgers, and meatloaf. I have even had quail here one time when it was a special and all of it has been awesome. Try the pork rinds, they are a bit on the spicy side, but come out crackling hot, fresh, and delicious. The burgers here never disappoint. Definitely a good date night place, a place for a drink after work with your co-workers, or to take your parents when they come to visit, or anytime really!

Not bad southern cuisine. I had the fried chicken, greens, and mashed potatoes. The chicken was delicious and had a great breading and the sides were also very tasty, not super loaded with sugar like they can be at some southern places. Overall very good but I will say I would have liked an option for dark meat. They only had these fried boneless breast pieces which weren’t bad, I just love dark meat. I would have liked the temp of my food to be a bit hotter as well, kinda was lukewarm even when I first sat down. They have a great range of options for sides and sandwiches and other dishes like fried fish that looked really delicious so if you go I’m sure you will have no problem finding something you like. Also they had a really nice selection of beers to buy as well as some of the dishes they make sitting in a freezer for purchase. Worth it for some great southern food !
Cafe Du Monde 800 Decatur Street 70116 New Orleans (504) 525-4544 Sayrah Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Everything I wanted and more. I'm a sucker for a good pastry and these are some of the lightest, most delicious beignets I've ever had. The real seller for me though was the coffee. The cafe aulait is some of the best coffee I've ever had ! Going late and avoiding the breakfast crowd is a good idea. I went at like 8pm and we sat right down with no wait. Bring cash since they don't accept cards!
Creole House and Oyster Bar 509 Canal St New Orleans, LA 70130 15043232109
From top left: Crawfish ettoufe, Boudin, and Alligator Po-Boy
Sayrah Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Just ok. Offers local dishes like boudin and crawfish ettoufe (spell check?) but at a sub par level. For a really really high price. I mean I guess you are paying for convenience since it’s close to the hotels in that area but if I had to give advice it would be to go venture out to the places that look like a hole in the wall. They have the best local dishes
The Depot 124 Mitcham Ave Auburn, AL 36830
Sayrah Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️ The atmosphere of this place is lovely. Decor is great and right as you enter there is a great bar to the left. As with a lot of these fancy smanshy places they do serve you a little food at a large price. Which to be honest Im cool with as long as the food blows my mind. But overall it was just ok, and reallly expensive… The selection of oysters is really fun and we had a few that were really delicious. They offer a variety of types with great flavor descriptions which are actually really accurate
Shrimp and lobster bisque was just ok. I expected it to honestly have a little bit more of a seafood flavor but it was just like drinking fat.. If youre into that maybe you would love it, but just not for me. The monkfish medallions were a bit on the salty side, and thats saying a lot coming from me. I wish they would have eased up just a bit on that seasoning. My favorite part of the meal was definitely my steak. I got the 36-day aged Alabama angus hanger steak and it was perfection. Really delicious and well balanced with the potatoes and veggies on the side.
Funnel Cake It 196 N Donahue Auburn, AL 36832 Sayrah Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fair food with out the rides? I’m in ! This menu was actually a lot more diverse than what I thought it would be. They had burgers and hot dogs and other things that I’m sure I will try. I had the strawberry funnel cake and my husband had the original. Cakes were delicious, sweet, and exactly what I needed that day. Buttttt if you ask me the batter was a bit cakey and not quite as crispy as I wanted but still so delicious. I hope to go back and try some of the other things on the menu.

Such a cool bar and coffee lounge combination that I know I would find myself hanging out at a lot if I lived in Birmingham. The decor was so eclectic it had one tv showing Gilligans Island, another showing a Kiss movie, and another with some kind of oldddd space movie. They have an old school photo booth which is so fun and a whole area in the back with 4-5 Nintendos with games that you can sit and play. Ahhhh sooo cool! The coffee here was spectacular as well. Really bitter so if you're for some weird reason not in to that you won't like it but it's good strong coffee that doesn't play around when it comes to taste. Apparently they also have shows so I would love to come check this place out some other time in the future and see what that's all about.
First Watch 2920 Zelda Rd Montgomery, AL 36106 (334) 277-0802 Sayrah Rating: ⭐️⭐️ I wanted this place to be good. As hungry as I was I could have eaten anything but this place was just sub par on every level possible. My friend and I went here at about 11:15 am ordered by 11:30 but didn't get our food until after 12.. Which ok sounds fussy but they weren't super busy and then the food came out cold.. All of it, every single dish. We ordered the avocado toast and that was just ok. I didn't expect that one to be warm but medium temp biscuits and gravy? Cold lemon ricotta pancakes? Although they were delicious in taste that was really sad! The breakfast tacos were another cold dish that should have been served warm... To describe this the cheese was melted on the tacos and had hardened.. So it had been made and obviously sat out long enough for the cheese to re-solidify. Overall not even close to some of the brunch places I have experienced.
