Franky wasn’t entirely sure what she was doing this week. Her Dads were both off on some sort of week long adventure. She’d had enough adventure, for now, but the idea of her friends coming over and just doing whatever for a week - it sounded fun. Simple rules like: bring whatever you like, do whatever you like, just don’t break anything big or valuable and whatever you bring has to leave. Now, here it is. Her Dads have flown off, house is empty. Delicate stuff moved to Franky’s room, nice and safe with her lock on her door.
She grabs a snack, her phone, and goes to sit on the front steps, leaving the door wide open behind her. She sends off a group message saying some witty thing Alo came up with to announce parties. Franky’s not so sure ‘party’ is what she’s going for, actually she’d like ‘friends hanging out with drugs’ but they’re connected and full of crossover so a party she’s calling it. A bring your own EVERYTHING party. After the group message sends off, she sends another text to Mini.
Mini’s in the middle of her living room doing cool down stretches after a run when she hears her phone beep and buzz on the table. Relaxing her ham string she picks it up and grins when she sees it’s a message from Franky. She presses open quickly her blue eyes lighting up at the prospect of a week long party and a chance to see all her mates. She sends a reply saying she’ll be there soon and skips up the stairs to take a shower.
Half an hour later she re-emerges from her room, clean, dressed and freshly made up. In the kitchen, she feels around in one of the high cupboards for her mum’s stash of alcohol, and grins when her hand closes around a mostly full bottle of vodka. She slips the bottle into her bag, along with several changes of clothes and other assorted things she’ll need if she’s going to stay at Franky’s for a week. Leaving her house, she shuts and locks the door and begins the walk to Franky’s.
Given the time, Franky finishes her snack on the front steps and heads back in for one more check that nothing damageable is left where it can be damaged. Then she busies herself replacing the proper china, cutlery, and glasses, with plastic versions of the same.
The walk takes Mini almost twenty minutes, and by the time she turns onto Franky’s street she’s thankful she decided on sensible shoes. Once she’s standing on the front step of Franky’s house she knocks firmly on the door and waits, rocking back on her heels slightly.
Franky had just finished sitting down the last stack of plates when she hears the knock at the door, and it only takes her a few seconds to get from kitchen to entryway and open the door widely, grinning, "Hi."
