neal sat down at the bar and ordered himself a whiskey, straight up. he heard the words from the other’s mouth and shrugged, “ no, i just like to come to the bar on a tuesday night. because i have nothing better to fuckin’ do. “ he said that with a hard sarcastic tone to his voice. it was a defense mechanism with him.
“i wonder how your mondays go,” he deadpanned. it didn’t take a genius to see that the man wasn't interested in any kind of conversation -- and sebastian liked to think of himself as someone close enough to that. “i’ll leave you to your tuesday commitment.”
everything in bella’s world was falling to shreds at the moment; she couldn’t get her two children to warm up to her, their kidnapper was on the loose, she’d been distant from her husband, she was going through a rough patch at work. she needed this release and that’s why she was currently sitting on a bar stool, swirling around the liquor in the fifth shot of alcohol. “ how’d you guess ?“ bella spoke as she shrugged her shoulders. “ was it the look on my face or how many empty glasses of these that i’ve got laying around ?“
sebastian turned to the woman, smiling. he wouldn't say that he was glad he wasn’t the only one going through a rough patch, that wasn’t something he would wish on anyone, but there was a sense of camaraderie he felt toward the woman. “a little bit of both,” he admitted. “did it help?” he nodded toward the empty glasses, knowing that he was planning on a similar scenario.
michael didn’t drink — not often, at least. but when his kids disappeared all those years ago, was there a day he didn’t? now that they were back, he was sure he’d stop, but somehow their return had made his life a lot more difficult “ is it really that obvious? ” he asked, a dry laugh escaping his lips.
“it takes one to know one,” he chuckled although not completely humorously. there was something about bars and alcohol always pulling in their kind of people, those with too many problems and not enough ideas on how to fix them. “at least we’ve got good old alcohol to help, right? i can even lend an ear if you’re feeling like sharing.”
“this thing went around for a while that avril lavigne had a body double to avoid paparazzi, and at some point in the early 2000′s she died, and now that body double is posing as her, because avril’s team never told the press about her death.”
“isn't that more or less what they’ve been saying about mccartney for a few decades now?” now, that was something he was more familiar with. “it seems like they’re just reusing their conspiracy theories.”
amrita wasn’t a drinker. she was raised in the hindu faith and drinking wasn’t generally seen as a positive thing, though her family wasn’t that strict, she still tried to keep the drinking to a minimum. it didn’t seem to do most people very well. after her perfomances, she generally went home but tonight, she had agreed to go to a bar with some fellow mucisians. to her left, her collegeages were happily talking but honestly, she wasn’t that interested in the music related conversation. couldn’t they talk about anything other than work. the sparkling water in front of her looked a little odd between all the alcoholic beverages but she tried not to feel too out of place, although her sari and golden jewelry generally did do that. a man sple to her and she smiled. “actually, no. things are going quite well for me.” she said, honestly but sympathetically. “i take it you aren’t as lucky.”
“well, i’m glad for you,” he commented with a small smile. sebastian would be happy with whatever company he could get, at least it would help him keep his mind away from his troubles. or so he hoped. “you could say that,” he nodded before taking a sip of his drink. “just have a lot going on right now.” he wasn’t about to spill everything to the stranger. “any ideas on how to change my luck?” it was mostly a joke, he didn’t expect the woman to have the solution to all his problems, though he wouldn’t deny it if that had been the case. “i’msebastian, by the way.”
“i mean i could maybe leave netflix behind if we went to the cheesecake factor for drinks,” nadia explained with a smile on her face as she paused the tv. “it’s about amateur bakers trying to recreate these grand cakes,or cupcakes, and even cookies. it’s truly hilarious.”
“are you giving me the right tools to bribe you away from your show or are you bribing me for your company?” he questioned his friend, lips curving at the corners. “so you’re telling me you’re about to spend your whole day watching a cooking show? no, we’re going to cheesecake factory. say goodbye to netflix for the day.”
she hadn’t noticed who was sitting next to her until she heard the familiar voice. shit, shit, shit, yep, she was dead. fake i.ds weren’t hard to come by, but she knew that she was DEAD. finishing her drink, she quickly looked at the other, guessing if she made a brisk exit it would be obvious and when she saw his eyes settled on her, she chewed her inner cheek. how could she get out of this.”yeah…i..”pause for a breath.” je ne parle pas anglais.”
his eyes remained away from the person, focused on the tumbler as he rotated it slightly, but at the first word out of his companion’s mouth, he was looking up. he couldn’t recognize that voice anywhere, in whatever language. “victoria,” he called gravely, turning his full body toward the girl. “care to explain what the hell you’re doing here?”
maybe it was the cup in her hand that’d brought such a lame start point but as her eyes scanned over the man she once loved, it was all that came to mind because she was really struggling to think of anything other than things she shouldn’t. "i mean, that’s probably what happens when you get your girlfriend pregnant and then leave a seventeen year old to do everything on her own.” why was her heart skipping like that? god damn it, if the memories from the past could go away. “it’s good to see you.” words were soft, eyes closing for a moment before she nervously swallowed and opened them again. “i’m sorry about this.. really. but i need a favor.”
it only took that one comment for him to know that alyson wasn’t about to hold any punches, and why should he? that was exactly what he had done, and none of the many excuses he had used to make himself feel better about it through the years would work with the woman. “i guess,” he nodded lamely. sebastian was used not only to talk to large groups but to be heard, his word always treated as something important, but now they failed him. he was nervous, unsure on exactly what the woman would demand, and suddenly all too aware of the effect alyson still had on him. “you shouldn’t be the one apologizing, aly,” he sighed, though he still couldn’t say the words. “just tell me what you need.”
“ why would you suggest that, dad ? ” serena murmured as she placed down the coffee, voice fogged with faint exhaustion, yet the pair of lidded green eyes mirrored the small, winsome tight line that had coveted her mouth, as they casted down to her pondering father. the answer to his question would’ve been a flat out yes. however, there was no use in divulging that information to him. her dad had clearly had his own series of trials to hurdle through. “ what’s got you feeling so ominous and disappointed ? ”
there was some bittersweetness at hearing his daughter’s voice. his kids had always been able to bring a smile to his face and lessen the weight on his shoulder, but the girl’s presence also reminding him of the predicament he had gotten himself in. it was hard to be around his eldest girl and not be reminded of his son, knowing that his boy wasn’t much older than the blonde. “hey, sweetheart,” he forced a smile anyway, leaning to place a fatherly kiss on top of serena’s head. “just work related, nothing you need to worry about.”
life had been easy on sebastian, but, now, his best-kept secret was leaving his closet and it could change everything. days like that, when the worries got too much, he just needed something to numb things out a bit, which was why he found himself at a bar, a tumbler filled with scotch in front of him. “has life been giving you a hard time too?” he asked the person sitting next to him, even before taking a proper look at them.
“nothing says coffee like 2 in the afternoon, but really. sleep is honestly no joke, i’d love to try it sometime. the last time i actually slept was twenty three years ago. nice throwback to only having myself and if a boy liked me to worry about. never take it for granted. have all the sleep you can.”
he had been warned by his pi about aly’s possibly reaching out, something about being in-between jobs, but he hadn’t quite believed it. not until the woman had been standing in front of him. the woman that the girl he loved had become. “i have tried a couple of times, it's a little overrated if you ask me,” he tried to sound casual, hide the slight sting that the mention of the past brought to him.
“okay, but just hear me out on this. the conspiracy theory about avril lavigne isn’t really that far off if you think about it.”
“conspiracy theory?” he turned from his cup of coffee. it was safe to say that sebastian didn’t particularly pay attention to celebrities and their lives (or conspiracy theories), always too busy with his own. “what are they saying?”
“you know, i think this was probably the lamest fourth of july i’ve ever had in my entire life. everyone wanted to sit in their backyards and eat hot dogs. i bought two super cute swimsuits just for forth of july and i didn’t get to wear either of them,” the girl said with a sigh. “what about you, did you do anything more exciting than a lame backyard barbecue?”
“i’m afraid i’m too old for anything more than that.” actually, the fact he hadn’t spent the whole day working should have been considered close to a miracle in itself. “summer’s barely begun. i’m sure you’ll find the right occasion to put those to use.”
“Okay, so this is the first few day I’ve had free in weeks, and Nailed It season two is now on Netflix,” Her glossy strawberry lips turned into a smile. “So, unless it’s super important i’m afraid i’m currently occupied for today.”
“i was just going to see if you wanted to get a drink, but far from me to take you away from your show,” he chuckled jovially. sebastian knew the value of a day off, mostly because he didn’t actually have any of those, always working even when he shouldn't. “what’s that about, anyway?”
→ [ CHRIS PINE? ] oh no! it’s actually [ SEBASTIAN DAVIS, CH 54 ]. he’s a [ 40 ] year old [ CEO ] who just so happens to be walking around san diego, leaving him to be known as [ THE MAGNATE. ] their family knows them to be CHARMING & DRIVEN, but also WORKAHOLIC & ASSERTIVE. rumor has it [ HIRED SOMEONE TO WATCH OVER CH 55 & 56 ] but their family loves him no matter what !
it’s giulia again bc apparently, i’m on a road to remaking old characters. again, hmu or like this and i’ll dm you.
i present you sebastian davis, 40yo, self-made multimillionaire, family man, workaholic extraordinary, and your friendly deadbeat dad to one!
he had a fairly easy and uneventful middle-class upbringing with two loving parents, and without any worries, but that changed when he got his high school sweetheart pregnant;
at first, he tried to do the right thing and stick around, but he was young and had his whole life ahead and this premature family life made him feel trapped and as if he was wasting his life;
as it turns out he had been accepted to harvard, which had always been his dream and what he knew he needed to do to achieve the success he wanted so much. one day he just up and left, moving to boston to pursue his dream and leaving his son and girlfriend behind;
he did love alyson and when he was younger he thought she was the one, but the weight of a pregnancy put a lot of strain in the relationship;
sebastian went on with his life and got everything he wanted tbh. he co-founded this huge technology company that turned into this multinational corporation; fell in love, got married and started a family;
in his defense, he didn’t completely forget about the son he left behind. often he would stop and think about him, especially after his younger kids were born;
and he went on to hire a pi to find him and his mother and keep an eye on them so he would know if they ever needed money or something like that, but he couldn’t tell his wife about that ofc;
it’s not that he doesn’t care about them, but so much time has passed and he doesn’t want to risk ruining his family. so he hasn’t reached out to them, and isn’t sure how he feels now that they’ve done it;
so that’s where we are rn, and after all that history lesson, let me tell a bit about sebastian’s personality!
sebastian has all the qualities that make a good businessman, he’s charming, driven, persistent, tenacious, passionate and a visionary. but he also has the flaws that come with it;
he’s a workaholic and spends a lot of time working. he knows what he wants and he won’t settle for any less, which really makes him a little obsessive. a lot of times someone has to just push him into relaxing a bit;
he is super smart, and he just expects everyone to be on the same level as him and can be very condescending;
his label is ‘the magnate’ and, believe me, he enjoys the good things in life. he has an expensive taste, and now that he has the money to spend as he sees fit he will do that. he loves spending time with his family too;
his family has to be the most important thing in his life and he would do anything for them. he tries to be a good dad to his kids (he already messed up with one, he gotta make sure he does right with the younger ones) but he is so focused on his professional success and sometimes that can get in the way;
this is a mess, but things will get more organized as i start playing him. hopefully.
