An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Chapters: 1/2 Fandom: Deadlock (Video Game) Rating: General Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Holliday/Allie Kinkaid, Allie Kinkaid/McGinnis, Holliday/McGinnis (Deadlock) Characters: Allie Kinkaid, McGinnis (Deadlock), Holliday (Deadlock) Additional Tags: Absinthe, Drinking, Smoking, Dinner Dates, Aleister Crowley - Freeform Series: Part 7 of Bombfactory Summary:
Ms. Kinkaid, Holliday, and McGinnis, a table for 3. McGinnis remembers why it would never have worked with Allie. The feeling is mutual. Joan remembers what it's like to feel out of your depth and swimming upstream, but she learns to jump like a salmon. Maggie wishes she had the fins to leap like that.
I cannot stress enough how important it is to have fandom friends who don’t hate your guy but their fav is someone else and their main ship is something else. It keeps your fandom environment biodiverse. It forces you to have some perspective.
Yobbas (Yoda X Jabba shippers) are literally the most delusional members of the Star Wars fandom, and I say this as someone who used to ship them HARD before I got preoccupied with my divorce proceedings
messy holliday sketch time
Mcginnis must be so lonely, man. The kid genius, Fairfax's favorite engineer, strong, rich, and beautiful - but so isolated. She's too headstrong to reach out, too misanthropic to want to. She doesn't feel like she can do any good, so why try? If the world is going to hell, might as well have beer money.
But it's like, you can tell she isn't happy. She couches her loneliness in sarcasm and disregard, but she genuinely doesn't know how to connect to people. When she asks Geist how she does it, the parading around at parties, you can tell she's partway making conversation, partway genuinely curious, and partway trying to connect with Geist on hating socializing.
When she's confronted about her work, she flips to deflection and tries to paint everyone else to be just as immortal as she is. She doesn't want to actually acknowledge her actions. She thinks everyone sucks, she's just "smart" and "aware" enough to know she sucks, but thinks everyone else is deluded.
she absorbs herself in her research and work and ignores everything else, trying not to be a one-hit child star genius that just coasts on her previous achievements. she wants people to take her seriously so bad.
what a character.
worlds worst lesbian for my favorite lane partner (u know who u are.)

Caught, ensnared, under the covers. Joan can feel impossible to pin down until you really understand her. Maggie might not be trying to understand her, but she's intuitive enough.

Is it really rage bait if you’re just a sleepy guy?
