A Call for the Brave: Testing the Tunnels
Hey, all! I've recently edited parts of my horror writing course and I am looking for a handful of dedicated writers to beta-test the curriculum (free of charge). Your mission is to explore the lessons, test the pacing, and ensure the "air is clear" for those who follow. In exchange for full access, I only ask for your honest, unvarnished feedback on the experience.
How to Join the Expedition:
Select the Canary in the Coal Mine option in the pricing plans section of the landing page (linked above).
If you’re hesitant to step into the dark with me, I’ve left the lamps lit for a handful of preview lessons, so you can sample lessons like "Primal Horrors: Stories Around the Campfire" or "Case Study: The Mellified Men of Tianfangguo (1596 CE)" before you commit to the full descent into the tunnels.
My goal is to build a space that truly pushes horror writers to improve their craft. There's a Student Feedback module within the course for your notes. Please be kind, but above all, be honest.
Thank you for helping me find the cracks in the foundation.
Upon some reflection, an Addendum for the hesitant:
#1.
While we discuss the mechanics of horror, the course itself contains no jump scares or frightening imagery. It is a scholarly exploration of the genre, not an exercise in terrifying my fellow writers. You can study the shadows without being haunted by them.
#2.
Joining the expedition requires an email address for signing up to the course. There is no requirement to check in via Tumblr if you would rather keep those two identities separate (hence the Student Feedback module).
