Childe, 2 days later: Do you mind babysitting my baby brother?
Anemo archon Jean, anyone?
Yes, I know Scaramouche looks weird without his normal hat.
No, I don't know why I inlcuded him.
I heard there’s a new hunter in town Warning: LOUD!!! I was unaware of how loud the audio was, I’M SO SORRY
Ok
So take the cliche possessed weapon and flip it on its head.
Like, a hilariously evil entity trapped inside an basically useless weapon.
Like, a cursed spork.

Is anyone interested in my Faith Was a Weak Plot Point and Dain Shouldn't Have Been an Ol au I've been working on LMAO
Alright! One like was more than enough to get me talking about my AU! So, instead of Dain being an ol from the very beginning and everything being a lie, Dain really did lose his parents to grey guards at a young age and was found and fathered by Doom (Jarred). He was replaced by an ol during the pirate incident when he was captured to be handed over the grey guards. While the main trio was in the Maze of the Beast he was handed over to guards and instead of being given payment the pirates were given an ol to take his place and promised twice the payment they had asked for if the plan succeeded. So the pirates accepted, not like they had much of a choice, and deliberately tried to be found talking about "Dain" by the main trio. Eventually it worked and everything goes by as it did originally. Meanwhile the real Dain is taken to the Shadowlands to fight in the shadow arena. When they go to rescue Dain it's about the same, Lief sees the dagger and is like "oh hey that's an ol", but when fighting the ol, it mentions the real Dain being in the shadow arena to add some shock factor and take the advantage, but of course dies anyway because Plot Belt. The rest of the book goes as normal save for some dialogue talking about Dain, then leading into the Shadowlands series is actually Lief being the one who wants to insta leave not Jasmine but has the sense to go find Marilen and have her be his heir while they go on their quest to find a way to save the prisoners in the Shadowlands, including Dain. Yada yada, it's the same but subtract Faith existing and make the main driving force the fact that they all wanna find Dain specifically, removing Faith related conflict, but overall changing very little overall. Now, since Dain is pretty well known as being the boy from the resistance who always accompanied Doom (and word probably got around that he was friends with Lief, Jasmine, and Barda), he was probably taken from the arena and used as a test subject of the conversion project and hosting a carrier worm by the time the trio got to save him.
Now, Dain is very different once they rescue him. Based on his personality being on the timid Based on his personality, fighting in the shadow arena probably activates a complete emotional shut down for a while to protect him from all the flooding negative emotions he felt in the fights against the vraal. Going against the vraal also would have made his fighting style different, less direct and more tricky to make the enemy think they had already won when he was making them drop their guard so he could set up a quick final blow. But moving on from the shutdown, his emotions don’t just stay gone for good, that’s a temporary thing and probably just is brought up in conversation rather than being shown. However, they are much duller and he is overall much quieter. That is most of what I have, I do plan to expand at least this part at some point, though.

So I'm just now starting up the anime with my friend again and he's never read nor watched it, and accidentally let it slip that Lief becomes king (which is obvious, but y'know) but I believe I convinced him that Dain is an heir who dies.
Point is, I needed context for this:
"You have to be alive to become the king." -Fallow, in my friends mind probably
Pretty good job so far
Funny story: I'm introducing one of my friends to Deltora Quest, but not with the books I'm showing him the anime. Pray for us in this acid trip.
Should I hype him up on the idea that Dain is the heir so that when the reveal happens he hates me?
Note: we're only on episode 19, but I've read all the books and seen up to episode 34 personally.
