He nodded. "Praying? I have heard of that. So you do it on that old rag?" Scarlett paused. "I use this fragile, sacred cloth, yes. And, by the way, once I'm sitting on it, there are rules. You don't bother me, prod me, talk to me, or flick soil at my ears. You leave me alone and wait for me to finish." Albert Browne considered the matter. "So it's like a toilet, then? Old Michael at Stonemoor used to express himself in similar terms."

He blinked at her, his eyes pools of innocence and woe. "Your poor hand.

She held up her blackened claw. A crust as dark as burnt sugar bloomed like a ragged flower across the palm, while fresh bloody stalks ran down her wrist and up her sleeve.
"How do you think it's doing, Albert?" He peered at it. "Ooh. Ah. Is it sore?"
"Goddamn it, you can see daylight through the centre! What do you think?

She took a long, slow breath to calm herself. In the previous twenty-four hours, she had killed four men, committed a bank robbery, walked many miles across difficult country, been squashed by a bear, and acquired the unwanted company of an idiot. By any standards it had been a long day.

(You know, I absolutely adore this artist's style and her watercolor technique. She has created a multitude of awesome illustrations featuring Scarlett and Brown that simply delight me)
IN ALL HER TRAVELS ACROSS THE BROKEN LANDS OF BRITAIN, Scarlett had seldom been so uncertain about what to do. Bearded outlaws she could deal with, beasts and bank managers too.
These were things she could outmanoeuvre, flee from or, as a last resort, shoot. She could rely on her speed, her endurance, and a wide range of antisocial talents to dispose of them.

I’m a real fan of *Lockwood & Co.* as well. The TV series based on that book series is my absolute favorite, and I was deeply disappointed when it was cancelled. I miss it so much!
I really hope that whichever company takes on the adaptation of *Scarlett & Browne* provides a strong promotional push and doesn't skimp on advertising. I’m terrified that history might repeat itself! This project has huge potential. With its charismatic characters, their dark pasts, and a captivating post-apocalyptic atmosphere—they could turn this adaptation into a massive hit! Seriously!
Wow, the artist Brod (link to her Instagram is below the post) is working on some fan art for «Scarlett and Browne». Scarlett looks pretty fierce, while Albert is clearly disoriented—as usual, though.
