Love Yourself
I’m suffocating with things to tell you — suffocating with love and need for you.
Simone de Beauvoir, from a letter to Jean-Paul Sartre featured in Letters To Sartre (via violentwavesofemotion)
All I ever really want to know is how other people are making it through life — where do they put their body, hour by hour, and how do they cope inside of it.
Miranda July, It Chooses You (via stolenwine)
The feeling that she had never really lived in this world caught her by surprise. It was a fact. She had never lived. Even as a child, as far back as she could remember, she had done nothing but endure.
The Vegetarian, Han Kang (via optimistsdaughter)
I am tired of being human. And angry at feeling so much love. Some days I am angry just to be alive.
Clarice Lispector, from “Excess and Privation,” Selected Cronicas (via lifeinpoetry)
the type of people the world gives you -
light:
glows when they talk, dewy eyes, radiates with a blessing from the sun, calm in the air and goodness in their hearts
ocean:
bodies full of stories, a will that ebbs and flows, lazy smiles, no real devotion to anything but existence itself, wordless lullabies
earth:
minds like caverns, hands like stone, to hold or to hurt, heavy irises, earthquake tempers, stubborn desire for constant reconstruction
poison:
an inexplicable sense of sharpness, hot tears, decaying cores, irreversible tornadoes and infectious whispers
The Buddhists say if you meet somebody and your heart pounds, your hands shake, your knees go weak, that’s not the one. When you meet your ‘soul mate’ you’ll feel calm. No anxiety, no agitation.
Monica Drake, Clown Girl (via thelovejournals)
Even when I detach, I care. You can be separate from a thing and still care about it. If I wanted to detach completely, I would move my body away. I would stop the conversation midsentence. I would leave the bed. Instead, I hover over it for a second. I glance off in another direction. But I always glance back at you.
David Levithan, The Lover’s Dictionary (via thequotejournals)
