~Shopping~

Today was strictly a shopping day for Ivan and he wanted to get the groceries done in his free day. Lately they had been running low on a few thing and food was one of them. Normally, he would head to Hansel or Gretel's home to purchase it on a lower price but there was one issue: he needed to get good fish and purchase some newer clothes for himself or at least fabric. There has been an accident in his teaching day where a student spilled ink on his back. 

For now... he'd need to get some fabric soon and pick up a few things....

"Ivan, hi...!" She said with a smile, and held out a green flower. "I got you a flower! It's for Harmony Day."

"Oh!..." Smiling, he hands a green flower back. "Thank you. Happy Harmony Day to you too."

“Oh Gretel.”

A friendly smile was offered to the young farmer. Ivan had heard of Hansel and Gretel and knew them pretty well: the two young farmers that were helping with the Zephyr town’s reputation in the bazaar. Hansel was a lively guy who often dropped by Ivan’s to drop off a small free sample of herbal perfume, his personal favorite, as a sign of friendship. Gretel, he found as a the lovely young lady who worked just as hard as Hansel. 

“How are you?”

Gretel smiled. “Oh, hello Ivan.” She said with a bit of a grin. Ivan had always been very kind and gentle, she liked that about him. He had an aura about him that made her not nervous, like many other people.

“Well, I’m pretty good.” She said with a nod and a small sigh. “Just got done working for the day…mostly, at least. It’s been a long one.” She said, and then shook her head. “B-but enough about me! How are you, Ivan?” She said with a small smile.

He smiled, glad to see the girl was fine and well. But when the girl sigh, it made him pat her head as a sign of comfort. He knew too well what she meant, a long day would be tiring to someone yes. “Well you did your best right? That’s what matters most in the end.” Ivan gave her a gentle smile. “I’m fine thank you. I finished work actually myself too.”

Gretel smiled, feeling comforted by the slight pat on the head, almost having a slightly soothing effect. She nodded in reply with a small smile. “Yeah, I worked really hard today, that’s for sure. I really want to meet the quota this week at the bazaar!” She said with a bit of a grin, and then blinked. “Oh? How was your day?” She asked politely.

“That’s good. I’ll be sure to drop by your booth as well as Hansel’s—- but you two seem to work together well either way.” He chuckles a bit knowing Hansel as the person who would greet him without any formality, but it was a good part of Hansel too. “It was good, though it’s always tiring at the end of the day. But worth it at the same time.”

“Th-thanks a lot!” She said with a grin, “Yeah, we do work together a lot.” She said with a nod, thinking of all the times Hansel helped her out, as well as the other way around. It was a good team effort, that’s for sure, it definitely helped them to both be successful.

“Yeah, I know what you mean!” She said with a definite nod. “I mean, there’s all this stuff to do, at the beginning of the day, and you’re so dreading it…but then once you finish it, you feel this odd sense of accomplishment, you know? And you’re not really sure why it’s there, but then you remembered it’s because how hard you worked that day, and….” She ranted a bit, but then quickly stopped herself before she took it a step too far. She tended to do that sometimes when she was talking about something she really related to. “Heheh, sorry. I go into tangents sometimes….” She said with a slight sigh and a nervous chuckle. “But the cafe is always a nice place to go at the end of the day, huh? It’s always relaxing there, at least…” She said with a tiny smile.

"Heh.. No it's fine, and you're right. There really is a sense of achievement you feel when you finally finish work." It was true, that feeling when his students would go the way to actually thank him for his work and those smile on his face. The fatigue always vanished from that thought.

"It is relaxing at the cafe. I don't go there often though, I don't want to have Dirk be embarrassed about me if I do go. Watching the river is also nice."

Of course. I wasn’t very good at first but I usually get practice after my studies if there was anything on my mind.

[He smiled, still watching the river as he remembered the times of when he was a child and skipped another rock. Ahh this was relaxing in it’s own way…]

[Her gaze followed that rock, seeing how it jumped over the water many times before finally sinking inside the clear water mirror, one that reflected both the wondrous sky and and both of them. His words made the girl curious and some words escaped her mouth before thinking.]

[He smiled but he didn’t seem to want to say anything as Ivan looked over. Ivan had nothing to say but only continued with the smile. He never felt comfortable with being able to say anything else as he looked the river once more.]

[‘A lot, but I don’t want to talk about it’, it’s easy to understand for her. Deciding against saying anything else, the blue haired woman simply returned her gaze to the clear river, letting it drift to the waterfall. She wonders what is behind it.]

[Ivan smiles down at the river, watching the water flow and find himself relaxing. It's peaceful, almost too peaceful but it was a gift of this town as well. Compared to the busy city had went to visit many times to tutor, it is quiet and almost heavenly. He took another stone and skipped it along the river five times.]

[Today, Antoinette decided to take a walk to the nearby river, beautiful clear waters surrounded by the core of nature itself and a majestic waterfall. It’s beautiful, she must admit, something she couldn’t appreciate in the city.

Silent, the blue haired woman forgets the concept of time itself as her crimson eyes are reflected by the serene rivers under the midday sun.]

[It was a nice day for Ivan really, with the warm sunshine and the scent of nature that always managed to wake him up. Today was also his break day: where he could have time to himself and perhaps allow himself to relax at the river. His stroll towards the river from his home, however, stopped once he saw a certain blue haired girl staring at the river.

Antoniette? 

Indeed, he wasn’t expecting her to be there but decided to make his way near her.  Perhaps a bit of conversation was fine?]

[‘Not so much of a talker’ is a way to put it, indeed. She was a closed, stoic, woman that couldn’t manage to get used to a small town yet and so her naturally silent nature became worse. It’s not something that will be fixed with just a friendly smile, Ivan.]

He enjoyed doing this as a child: skipping rocks near the rivers but it wasn’t much really. The only actual reason he would do this in his age was if he didn’t have a book to read: like today. But knowing the woman’s attention wasn’t focused on him, he decided this was fine as well.]

She looked around for a similar stone and picked it up, inspecting it for some moments before throwing it at the river.]

[Ivan smiled to himself, a bit proud as he looked over to Antoniette as she picked up a rock. He blinked for a few moments as she attempted to toss it to the river... only for it to sink. He held back his chuckle as he found the action almost cute and picked up another stone. 

His attention was directed to her as he held up the stone.]
