being a queer german person and seeing the news fail to verbalise that the CSD attack in berlin was motivated by homophobia feels really crazy. i don't give a fuck where this person is from, the person who did this was homophobic and wanted us dead, and that is what we should be talking about. extremism has become far too normalised in this country and beyond. for one fucking second, talk about how normalised homophobia and is, talk about what a sad day it is for queer folks, about how we deserve to feel safe and that homophobia has no place in this country. can you actually care about us for once stop using us to fuel your islamophobia or hatred of immigrants.

because I am stupid like this I tuned into a livestream by a shitty 'news' publication (MoPo) yesterday and because they implimented a stupid as fuck feature where users could react to the ongoing updates with emojis, I had to watch people reacting with "🤣" to the news of one of our own dying. there were 100+ of them at one point.

it's disgusting, horrible, hateful. and the politicians who push this exact climate denouncing what they themselves sow for years... fuck them.

another night where people who just wanted to celebrate being their authentic selves ended up running for their lives instead. several people in berlin have been injured after a van drove straight into a crowd at one of europe's largest pride events. every time something like this happens, whether we know the motive yet or not, it reminds me how fragile queer joy can feel. our celebrations, our joy and jubilation and pride, can turn into emergency scenes in an instant. sending so much love to queer people in berlin tonight
