⌜OPEN⌟ °. ☾ — she’d been reading the local newspaper on her phone on the way home late at night, when the screen suddenly went black. she let out a groan when it’d finally died, realizing she was nowhere near where she needed to be when she looked up. this wasn’t the first time–technology was still so new to the century that she couldn’t help getting distracted. she reluctantly pushed herself out of her comfort zone to ask someone with her back to her in the darkness. she’d gone a long time without having to ask for help but was new to the city, so this was pretty embarrassing, and annoying for her.

mai was walking around the city, in no particular direction and one goal: get enough kilometers down in pokemon go to hatch some of her eggs—or what she called her pokechildren. she stopped in her tracks and walked off to the side to catch a treecko. that’s when she felt a presence behind her, it was underworld like herself so she wasn’t too worried. she turned, expecting to see someone she didn’t know but was met with the complete opposite. it was her roommate of all people.  ❝ fuck,lily, i thought you were a mom or something. hold on... ❞ she pulled her backpack to the side and opened the zipper, taking out one of her external chargers. she handed the device and a cable to her friend. ❝ the cable has three ends for any charging type. ❞ she paused, letting lillian set everything up before bombarding her with questions. ❝ what are you doing here anyway? ❞
