Fuck it just has so much IwaOi energy. The ‘I don’t see why you’re like this, you’re so good at volleyball’ of Iwaizumi and I really like the “You can reclaim your crown” the “You can be king again” too because to Oikawa, all these losses are quickly tearing him down and destroying the throne he has painstakingly built up.

TSUKISHIMA KEI
the first time you met him, you hated his guts
like tf why is he so salty? why is he so rude??
but his reaction and comments are funny to you, so you always go out of your way to annoy and make fun of him
then one time, he got fed up. “why are you always following me around?” he asks, his eyebrows furrowed in annoyance
the question makes you stop and stare. why do you like being around him when you claim to hate his guts?
it suddenly becomes clear to you that you like him, that’s why you always make an effort to talk to him. you like his intelligence, his cool aroma, and the way he reacts to you
“i like you,” you blurt out and for the first time, Tsukishima doesn’t look irritated
he has a lot of questions but instead of admitting that he’s curious, he has the audacity to burst out laughing. “yeah, right.”
“but i really do like you.”
“well, give up because i’m never going to like you back.”
Tsukishima telling you to give up just makes you feel more inspired to get him to like you back
so for the next few days, you ask Yamaguchi for tips
after the sweet angel tells you that Tsukki likes dinosaurs, you go out of your way to print dinosaur stickers and stick it to random things of his
Tsukishima has to hold himself back from smiling at the different dinosaurs you print out everyday, but he has a reputation so he always makes a show of ripping them off his things
he actually sticks it in a hidden page of a notebook, but you’ll never know that
“you’re messing up my stuff,” he says as he peels off yet another sticker
“no, i’m making it cute,” a smirk spread across your lips, “like you are.”
he rolls his eyes from you and walks away, claiming that you’re annoying but he really just doesn’t want you to catch him blushing
Yamaguchi also informs you that Tsukishima likes strawberry shortcake
you’re not a baker, so you ask Yamaguchi to help you bake it
once you’re done, you write ‘please stop being salty’ on the cake with syrup since you still have to tease him, y’know
when you finally give it to him, he’s so surprised that he’s first instinct is to be mean. “it looks stupid.”
you sigh impatiently. “just please accept it? i swear it doesn’t taste bad, i tried it before offering it to you.”
Tsukishima hates how his heart is beating so fast. is he starting to like you? no, he can’t like anyone. he can’t trust anyone again. he has to make you hate him
with one swipe with his hand, your cake splatters to the ground. you watch with wide eyes, tears threatening to fall out of your eyes. “why do you have to be so mean to me?” you ask before running away
he feels his heart drop, guilt seeping in. he picks up the strawberry shortcake on the floor, a frown embedded on his face
“she worked hard on that,” Yamaguchi chides, helping his friend clean up. “you know, letting her in your life might not be as bad as you think.”
“but can i trust her?”
Yamaguchi just smiles. “you know the answer to that, Tsukki.”
and so the tall blond walks quickly to find you. you’re curled up in a ball at an empty classroom, crying at how your crush just dismissed you
Tsukishima pulls your head out of your knees and wipes your tears away. “i’m... sorry,” he says hesitantly as you blink up at him
when you don’t say anything, he continues. “i just didn’t know if i can trust you or not, but now i’m sure that i can. i trust you, y/n.”
finally, you grin. “just tell me you like me, it’s not that hard.”
but he has a better idea. “hey, didn’t you say you tried the strawberry shortcake before giving it to me?”
“yeah but you threw—”
“well, let me taste it.”
with that he leans forward to kiss you. you gasp in surprise, and he takes the opportunity to shove his tongue in, tasting your sweetness mixed with his favorite food. as he continue to make you breathless, he realizes that you may be his new favorite
“pretty good,” he says as if he didn’t just have a full on make-out session with you. “come on, let’s bake another one.”
“i-i...”
“where are your words now, sweetheart?” he smirks as he stands up, pulling you upwards after
“oh shut up,” you fume as he intertwines your fingers
Tsukishima throws his head back and laughs
“didn’t know all it takes for you to finally stop being annoying was for me to like you back, y/n.”
KAGEYAMA TOBIO
the first time you see him play volleyball, you’re immediately whipped
who gave him the right to be so good, to be such a genius?
can he please hold you perfectly the way he holds his volleyball
right after a game and their team meeting, you pull him away to tell him he did so well and that you think you’re already in love with him
Kageyama just straight up blinks at you
“don’t worry about my confession, i just wanted to put it out there,” you shrug off. “in case you wanna date...”
“no!” he rejects instantly before turning red. “i mean, um, i’m busy with volleyball, so yeah.”
well, you’re going to be busy making him want to have volleyball and you
you start to watch their training to cheer him on, but not to the point that it gets annoying
the whole team teases him, but you honestly don’t care. you even become friends with them along the way because you guys tease Kageyama all together
“oi, Kageyama! you better set that ball to me properly or else y/n’s going to think you’re a loser!”
“SHUT UP, HINATA BOKE!”
“don’t worry, Kags, i’ll never think of you as a loser. you won my heart anyway.”
poor boy will blush so hard that he forgets how to freaking set
but when you don’t tease him, he actually does better than normal. like he stands up straighter, he connects with his teammates more, and he’s less of an ass
it’s because you’re there and he wants to look good
during school, you make sure to always buy him a carton of milk

honestly, you’re even surprised that Kageyama is willing to hug you, but then again, it is for milk
“i know you’re just using me for free milk,” you murmur against his stiff chest. he doesn’t even hug you back, he just kinda stands there as you squeeze the life out of him. “but i really look forward to this everyday, you know?”
Kageyema doesn’t know how to function whenever you’re sweet to him. he kinda just chants no no no no in his head, preventing himself from getting distracted from you
his wish comes true when you purposefully lessen your persistence, knowing fully well that he has a battle with Aoba Johsai coming up. you know how much that match means to him, and you don’t wanna distract him with your crazy antics
Kageyama glances at the bleachers from time to time, his heart getting heavy without the sight of you smiling at him. the pressure for the upcoming game and the fact that you’re not talking to him causes him to revert back to his old self--the lonely king of the court
“you’re being such an ass,” Tsukishima, being the only one brave enough to insult the king, calls out. “why don’t you sort things out with y/n instead of moping around like some idiot.”
he wants to punch the condescending blond, but he knows he’s right. he sits out the practice and just watches the team play as he internalizes his feelings. he hates how he’s come to depend on you, how he likes you cheering for him so much, but he wouldn’t have it any other way
after training, he plans to type you a text with the help of Yachi on the way home, but you’re suddenly outside of the gym, waiting for him with a carton of milk
“hey!” you smile, causing his heart to do somersaults. “i didn’t want to be a nuisance during training, but i figured i could be persistent after so here i am!”
Kageyama doesn’t think. he just lurches forward, wrapping you in his arms as he buries his face in the crook of your neck, just glad to have you back
“not that i don’t like this or anything,” you hum, melting in his embrace. “but what’s with the sudden affection? why aren’t you as stiff as a board anymore?”
he lets go of you, furrowing his eyebrows at you in annoyance. “i am not stiff!”
you just roll your eyes at his stubbornness. “so? did you miss me?”
slowly, he nods. “you’re not a nuisance,” he mutters. “i just... you make me feel less lonelier than i actually am.”
your heart can’t take it, so you decide to release some tension. you pull him down with his training shirt and kiss him passionately, making him feel all the love and care he deserves
“you won’t ever be lonely with me,” you whisper after you release him, his face brighter than Hinata’s hair. “besides, every king needs a queen, don’t you think?”
Kageyama is bursting with happiness, but you don’t even give him the time to say anything. you grab a ball from the gym before throwing it to him, causing him to blink at you
“Tanaka and Nishinoya told me you sat out during training, so why don’t i throw you some balls so you can practice setting?”
“i love you,” he blurts out. how are you so perfect? how can he ever think that he can’t have both volleyball and you, when you’re so supportive?
you chuckle. “i love you, too. now throw me back the ball so we can start doing what you love.”
he doesn’t need to mention that being with you is something he loves to do, too.
IWAIZUMI HAJIME
admiring Iwaizumi from afar is something you’re good at. you never wanted to be like one of Oikawa’s fangirls, but damn, Aoba Johsai’s ace is just too handsome and amazing that you can’t help yourself
on the way to training, Oikawa is swarmed by his fangirls, leaving Iwaizumi alone. seeing him sigh makes you start maneuvering your way to him, not wanting him to feel left out
“hey,” you greet him. he furrows his eyebrows at you and glances at the circle of Oikawa’s fangirls, probably wondering why you weren’t there
“i’m not one of them,” you clear up. “in fact, i’m here for you. i like you, Iwaizumi.”
“no way,” he chuckles, waving you off. “that’s impossible. i’m not a ladies’ man like that douche.”
making the impossible possible is something you’ve always wanted to do, and now you have the chance to do it
you give Iwaizumi twice as much presents as Oikawa receives
“you don’t have to keep doing this,” Iwaizumi mumbles shyly as he accepts the abundance of flowers you bought him
“but i want to,” you pout. “since you never seem to believe me when i tell you i like you.”
“i don’t believe you, y/n,” Oikawa joins in, teasing his friend. “how can you like this grumpy boy when i’m right here?”
while you roll your eyes, Iwaizumi hits Oikawa at the back of his head, daring the setter to insult him more. his violence makes you laugh, and Iwaizumi takes a moment to stop hitting his teammate to admire your beauty
someone as pretty as you can never like someone average like me, he thinks to himself bitterly, pushing you further away from him
but you don’t care. you watch some of his practice sessions, taking pictures of him at any chance you get so you can prove to him that he’s gorgeous
you even post some of them, acting like a legitimate fangirl online. Iwaizumi pretends he doesn’t see your thirst posts, but he’s honestly very honored to be on your social media
you show up at every game wearing one of his jersey that Kindaichi stole for you, screaming louder than any other spectator
Iwaizumi can’t help but swell with pride whenever he hears you, and he thinks he may die whenever he sees you in his jersey
“i make such a good girlfriend, don’t you think?” you ask suggestively, batting your eyelashes at your crush after every game
not giving in, he shakes his head. “you’re just pitying me,” he says every time, getting you more and more frustrated
why can’t he just believe you? or maybe he just doesn’t want a girlfriend but he’s too nice to say it
you never want to admit it, but you turn to his best friend for help
“are you kidding me?” he exclaims when you tell him you don’t think Iwaizumi likes you. “that boy is whipped for you, y/n. he’s just too dumb to realize it.”
Oikawa sees Iwaizumi approaching you guys from behind, so he leans in your ear to whisper, “wanna find out if i’m right or not?”
just right after you nod, the devilish setter pulls you in for a hug. taken aback by the sudden move, you simply stay in his arms, your eyes as wide as saucers
well, until someone else pulls you away
“she’s mine,” Iwaizumi growls, now burying your head in his chest
as your heart flutters, you look up at him. “oh really?”
nothing could’ve prepared you from him claiming your lips out of nowhere, kissing you as if you’ve been his for years. you turn into a lump from his aggressive kissing that if he isn’t holding on to you, you would’ve fallen
“alright, alright, i get it!” Oikawa chuckles in amusement, causing the two of you to pull away. “she’s all yours, iwa-chan.”
the team captain skips happily away, as if he didn’t just try to steal his best friend’s girl. Iwaizumi narrows his eyes at Oikawa then at you, who smiles sheepishly
“was that planned?” he asks
“...kinda?”
you think he’s going to get mad, but he just smiles. “whatever. at least i have you now.”
“you finally believe me?” you caress his cheek, and he leans into your touch. “you believe that i like you, and only you?”
he nods against your cheek, basking in your touch. “i should’ve believed you a long time ago, i’m sorry.”
“i’ll forgive you after you buy me as much presents as i bought you,” you tell him jokingly, holding his hand in yours as you drag him away for a date
Iwaizumi smiles at your intertwined fingers, loving the way you fit him perfectly. “i’ll buy you anything you want, y/n. as long as it’s for my number one fangirl.”
