DESIGNER: Stine Riis
Stine Riis
Stine Riis’ raw exploration of the inter-relation between form and decay, as taken on in ‘Decadence & Decay’, is transfiguring, provocative, and illuminates the passing of a saturated society. Effortlessly portraying the narcissistic beauty lost in a sensual media fantasy, Riis examines the mindless chasing of “newness” regardless of merit. Add to that a parade of luxurious fabrics (wool, silk, patent leather, fur) to examine time’s invisible hand in transfiguring sculptures and provoking gestures. Through a deliberate compulsion, Riis has transcended perfunctory viewing, whilst circumventing traditional illusions.
DESIGNER: Ismini Krassismenou
Ismini Krassismenou
Ismini’s final year project was a Sports Performance Enhancing Track and Field Collection Inspired by the up and coming Rio2016 Olympic Games.
The collection was bespoke body mapped apparel fit for Elite and Aspiring Elite Male Sprinters. Each Sprinter was put through thorough measurements in a technical body-scanning machine to get exact muscle bulking and fits for each individual to gain ultimate performance.
As an Athlete herself Ismini worked alongside the Best in the GB Athletics Circuit [2012 Olympic Hopefuls and Competitors] Rikki Fifton, Dwain Chambers and Simeon Williamson.

Pippa Davidson
MINIMALIST. That’s the best way to describe Pippa Davidson’s all white lingerie collection, a classic corset stripped back paired with an array of sculpted pieces that skim over the surface of the body in fluid yet structured lines. Clean and classic, this collection differs dramatically from her previous work where colour, print and graphic lines were prevalent. Featuring an archetypal two piece, as well as a boxier variety complete with a corseted cropped t-shirt, the most noteworthy piece has to be the bodysuit. Gently sculpting the body into an hourglass shape, the corseted back is juxtaposed by an almost featureless front where loose, flowing fabric rolls off the bust down to the waist.
This project was a collaboration between Second Year Menswear and Textile students at the London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London. The collection explores unique expressions of British Identity and the designing a persona. The collection was inspired by the two British Icons and unlikely bedfellows Jamie Reid and Edith Sitwell. Designers + makers include: Harriett Brown, Noor Yaseen Mir, Tania Choi, Martyna Sobczak, Lele Yuzhe Sun, Natasha Sumerfield and Katharina Pflüger. Make-up: Martyna Sobczak

JOYCE WONG
Reared in Hong Kong, Joyce Wong studied Fashion Design Technology: Womenswear at the London College of Fashion. Wong’s graduate collection is heavily influenced by Morris dance, a highly choreographed English folk dance, and the traditional garments of late 19th century fisher girl dress of northern Great Britain.
HAYLEY KIM CHEAL
Romantic, highly textured and 1950’s feminine, Hayley Kim Cheal’s graduate collection is an accentuation of the female form. A BA (Hons) graduate in Fashion Design Technology: Surface Textiles from the London College of Fashion, her work exudes a complete air of enigma and elegance. Cheal states “my textile designs consist of a mixture of different devore techniques onto silk satin and delicate cottons along with white on white prints inspired from Victorian iron work used within glass houses.”
This is the first time that I’ve created my own prints. It’s a difficult process but one that I very much enjoyed and would like to explore further. The prints were initially inspired by Damien Hirst’s Pharmacy Restaurant. I searched the Internet and scanned images of medicines before rearranging them to create intricate and colourful designs. Medicines can be beautiful.
