49. What do you want to do in the future: I want to be a band director. Maybe eventually work for some business like Quinlan, doing instrument repairs, while performing on the side. Get married, own a home, have kids... blah, blah, blah.

54. A story: Once upon a time Christine thought it would be a good idea to be "hipster" and pick a non-traditional instrument for a girl to play because her band needed one. So Christine picked up a tuba. Later in college, during her brass methods class, during the tuba section of course, there was a playing quiz and she outplayed all of the brass players. The teacher, who is a euphonium player mind you, was rather confused at my proficiency of an instrument I had "only been on for a week." He jokingly poked fun at the low brass kids in the class about breathing support etc. My friend, obviously fed up by all the compliments I was getting, shouted out, "SHE PLAYS TUBA!!!! SHE HAS BEEN PLAYING SINCE HIGH SCHOOL!!!!" My professor looked at me for a second. He narrowed his eyes, and then looked back at my friend and said in disbelief, "no, she plays the flute." My friend, even more irritated, said, "No really, she plays the tuba too." At this point I was hiding behind the instrument, seeing as it was bigger than me. My professor looked back at my, and put his hand over his chest and said, "I feel like you've been cheating on me...."

Wow, it really has been a while since I have been on here. I miss Tumblr, dearly! Real life has unfortunately gotten in the way of my Tumblr time.. Last summer I got a job that was taking up all my free time, and then I went into a semester of student teaching which practically killed any energy that I should have had outside the classroom.
And now here I am.... One month after graduating college, with a Bachelor's of Music in Instrumental Education.
And tomorrow I have my first interview for my very first teaching job...
