–––––– after SIX THOUSAND YEARS alone in the rubble of her greatest achievement with no way out, she began to wish she had died in that war.
( facingday. )
TRUTHFULLY, she doesn’t quite know the answer. ( though she suspects it lies somewhere in the muted, but ARDENT, chills that jump the ridges of her spine. ) if she’d a stomach, it would surely be churning. ‘ i … don’t know. ’ she pauses in an attempt to more carefully select her words, ‘ it’s been so long since i’ve been … ’
concern crossed the scientist’s face slowly, listening to the gem voice her worries. without hearing what was truly on pearl’s mind, benitoite knew rather quickly what was bothering her. a tentative hand reaches out, gracing the pearl’s elbow ( and then towards her upper arm ) gently in some semblance of a comforting gesture. it was a little awkward to her, but the intentions were good.
• If it, uh, brings you any consolation.. i’ve –– i’ve never actually done this before. been with anyone, i mean. so, really, i’m just as nervous as you. m-maybe not in the same sense but.. •
To make this journey, we’ll need imagination, but imagination alone is not enough, because the reality of nature is far more wondrous than anything we can imagine.”
These are just a few of the beautiful visual effects from Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey.

‘ DO YOU doubt me? ’ she’s quiet, just BARELY audible. ( had she meant to be heard at all? )
a pause. she had heard pearl, but she was not quite ready to speak. but when she was, her tone was just as low, just as g e n t l e .
• . . Why would I doubt you? •
–––––– after six thousand years alone in the rubble of her greatest achievement with no way out, she started to wish she had died in that war.
spearhanded.
‘ need i remind you where you are? ’ her counter is swift, eclipsing all evidence of FEAR. it wasn’t HER she dreaded, but the words she spoke. ( they were the most HONEST lies she’d heard in quite some time. ) if she’d a heart, it’d be belaboring a hopeless warning against her chest, just loud enough to POUND in her ears: DON’T LISTEN, DON’T LISTEN. ——but what point was there in denying it? NEVER would she ever be able to change the slate upon which she was founded. ( daubing it in brilliant hues and intricate patterns wouldn’t CHANGE what was underneath. ) ——but it could always be BUILT UPON. and in a fluid motion ( defined by a SAVAGE sort of grace, ) she summons her spear, pressing its pommel into the ground. it’d taken her decades to master summoning a weapon. after all, she’d been fighting her very BLUEPRINT. but here she stood now, a glint in her eye demanding control. ‘ you’re on OUR terrain, ’ and she lifts her spear, pointing it directly at the other’s chest. ‘ and you’re in no position to question me. ’
a q u i e t raise of her eyebrow, pointedly making eye contact with the now-drawn weapon. her upper lip curled slightly in something acutely similar to disgust. unimpressed, unamused and nearly irritated with the insubordination of the pearl, the terrible doctor slid her hand into her pocket. her thin lips parted slightly, the first warning sign often unseen by her opponents.
• Your terrain? How presumptuous of you. •
sheer blue gaze finally returned to the pearl’s own stare, and her glowering distaste seemed to increase. just seeing a misled slave so out of place was disgusting to her. the entire situation she was experiencing was disgusting. this planet, this pearl ––––––––– benitoite found herself clenching her teeth, and she realised she was letting this to get too close to her. briefly she closed her eyes, but only long enough to sigh.
• This planet belongs to HOMEWORLD, and as long as I stand, it remains in their possession. •
her MAW opened, and her head slipped back ––––– hand coming up to pull her own spear from her gem. a reverse sword swallower in action, she drew the bladed staff from her throat slowly, much less action to her withdrawal than the pearl’s. but it was just as elegant. it was soon fully unsheathed and clasped in her palm, ground into the dust under her feet in an idle stance. she did not plan to attack. not yet.
• And I am going NOWHERE any time SOON. •
defektivus.
❝ Well, I hadn’t PLANNED on doing so… ❞
In all honesty, the leash that was used on Peridot was only if she had failed to cooperate; a last resort in case they lost control. Nonetheless, she dared not attempt to lay a finger on the doctor.
• Good. •
she looked back down at her datapad, then back to the drill, and then back again. ben had figured as much, but still wanted to be sure that she wasn’t going to be humiliated by these rebels.
• I won’t be treated like some sort of housepet. •
@defektivus.
• Put me on a leash and it will be the last thing you do. •
recrossing her legs, benitoite stared down the pearl expressionlessly. the doctor meant what she said, too. there was no way in hell that she’d be reduced to enslavement.
ERROR. theres like .2 active su blogs but i will never truly abandon ben smh like this shit up for a rude ben starter bc she’s always in a bad mood
ERROR. ay yo im back check out the new swaggy theme by my main bae @pertaliz
And all the kids cried out, "Please stop, you’re scaring me" I can’t help this awful energy
Goddamn right, you should be scared of me

ERROR. i’d like to take this moment to remind everyone that benitoite is the biggest fucking cuckold you will ever have the misfortune of meeting
spearhanded.
& the AIR itself seems to give beneath the weight of her silence. sylphlike though she may be, she radiates something VAST, something GLACIAL. ‘ ———i am no one’s TOOL. ’
sheer, frigid blue eyes pierce through the pearl, devoid of proper reaction. equally chilled fingers reach up to her monocle, adjusting it gently as those ( ꜱʜᴀʀᴩ ) eyes narrowed slightly. her disapproval was becoming more and more obvious with her steady, unwaning silence. benitoite was allowing the quiet to settle in, weigh down on their shoulders.
• Is that right? •
is her bitter response, said in such a way that it would imply nothing more than utter distaste; tone heavy and monotonic with nihility. the doctor couldn’t be bothered to care what the pearl said. a TOOL was a TOOL, self-aware or NOT.
• You say that like you have a choice in the matter. Changing your OUTWARD appearance and personality does not change your MOLD, servant. You’re a slave, designed for nothing more than housework, and you a l w a y s will be. •
whipwield.
“ looks like you’re jus’ gonna have t’ come with us then. not lettin’ you homeworld jerks win in the end. this is our home & you’re not takin’ it. & don’ worry, the whip’ll get comfy after a while. ask peri. “
• If I go anywhere, ( or give any access codes ) it is to keep myself safe. I’m not siding with you and your band of rebellious pebble hooligans. And believe me, I stopped wanting this planet after the first decade I was trapped here. You can have the damn thing. •
@whipwield.
• You’re going to have quite a bit of trouble stopping the Cluster. There were security measures taken in foresight of you filthy rebels attempting to do just that. And since you KILLED all of my technicians, I’m the only one left who can deactivate those protocols. •
