I have a feeling, small tiny voice that's saying maybe the last act of Claudia was an act of mercy, her own way of still taking care of Louis! maybe something in her is frustrated and so done with Louis's pain and guilt that she felt the urge to shove it in his throat that he needs to let her go one way or another, She came to understand that she's dead, can't be saved anymore!! and whatever louis is doing won't bring her back! And She definitely doesn't want him dead (made it crystal clear!) She knows that, lestat is aware of that too, but louis can't make peace with the idea that she's gone! She had to be cruel for him to finally let her go! During that ghost scene we see Lestat touched by her words not shocked or angry as if he's saying I understand it! Your death, your pain, the void you're in! But louis is still in too much pain! She may have dragged Louis! Lied to him even used him at times because she felt like Louis owes her that! ( He kinda does!!?) but she knew that Louis won't easily let her go! Claudia asked him when they were in Paris who are you outside of me! Who is Louis without Claudia? Without Lestat, without anything that represents an anchor for him? So she knew she needed to carve out that love for her and grant him some mercy disguised in ruthlessness for him to finally close that chapter of his life and move on. Her anger is also justified! She's dead! His misery, any heroic acts in her name are pointless! so Louis drowning in his pity, guilt, self loathing and all his love for her won't benefit anyone! she gave him what she always provided for him, the power to move on!

Someone said we'll see Louis in season 3 from Lestat's point of view and how lestat thinks that louis is way cooler than he knows! And YES Absolutely gorgeous! I was brought to tears at how breathtaking Louis is during this song! Accompanied with Lestat's hypnotic voice!! Brutal love for brutal beauty!!
